Former FSU men's basketball players Darin Green Jr, Josh Nickelberry and Primo Spears are still seeking $250,000 in an amended filing from April 2 in Leon County. They are also seeking a trial by jury and continue to be represented by Darren Heitner, a South Florida attorney who has been active in bringing suits on behalf of former college athletes.
The original case against Hamilton included six players. Cam Fletcher dropped out of the suit in February. Deante Green and Jalen Warley are not named in the April filing.
The amended filing language appears to be similar to the December filing. Essentially, the players allege that Leonard Hamilton promised them $250,000 each if they transferred to FSU.
If there was an NIL contract between the players and Rising Spear, it is again not in this filing (it was not in the December filing). Rising Spear is not named in the suit.
It appears coach Hamilton and his lawyer have until May 14 to file a response. Hamilton has not commented about the lawsuit.
