We're about to have a National Signing Day press conference for Florida State. It's not supposed to last long, but if you want more info please go to the Premium Recruiting Board and click on the link for the National Signing Day show that just wrapped up. Lots of great info in there, as the coordinators talked about every single signee.
The Seminoles have signed 16 players today and are expecting a few more in the coming days.
So, anyway, stay tuned. Mike Norvell should be starting shortly. Thanks for being here.

"Definitely excited about some of the addition's to next year's football team. ... we could have a couple more here in the next couple of days ... definitely filling needs that we have and definitely feel like we addressed the needs."
Says he thought practice went well on Wednesday. It's unique having a practice and going through a national signing day.
On DL: "That's one of the true bright spots of this year's class .. that defensive front. Guys are versatile. All guys provide pass rush capabilities. ... when you look at guys that can play on the edge, all five of them have played at the end position. ... They're true edge rushers. Patrick, a big get with George here today and Byron Turner, are all true edge rushers ... We addressed a major need that we had. Definitely excited about that group."
On getting DT: "It's potential. As we go through our process, we look at frames, growth potential ... it gives them a lot of versatility as we move forward ... we could absolutely take a guy that is just an interior player," But says there might be guys on the roster that can grow into a DT. "I think we're in a good spot right now and we're going to continue to evaluate that moving forward."
"It's always tough when you don't get to see more face to face, in person evaluations. That's why we relied heavily on relationships. ... It's pretty remarkable as you look down on this list the connections to our program (speaking about how many signees were coached by former Seminoles)." Said they watched a lot of game film of the prospects. More than normal. ... "We've got great young men that we're bringing into this program, all that are like-minded, have a workman approach ... being the type of football player that they were is important, and couple that with the developmental potential we bring it was a really good class for where we are."
On George Wilson: "He was a young man that we had a lot of information on early in the process. Late spring, early summer. I loved his film. ... His junior year he really took to it, was a dynamic pass rusher. ... He was committed to South Carolina." Says as they were really starting to recruit him he committed to South Carolina. ... Says that was a hard week because they really liked him. ... "We really had a great bond that was created, and I'm really excited about what he's going to bring." Said they stayed in contact with him a bit while he was committed.
"Patrick is a young man, I think he had 17 sacks as a junior." Says they offered him really early last year, about two weeks after Norvell took the job. He was committed to another school but they kept virtually recruiting him. "He's a driven, hard worker. ... Every game he played he made an instant impact. Scoring touchdowns ... quarterback sacks, the physical development he showed in being able to play the run ... If you look at George, Patrick and Byron ... those guys that are true ends ... it was a critical piece. Getting Shambre and his versatility in what he can do, it's going to be a dynamic front."
On early playing time: "These guys are competitors. They want to make an early impact. ... These guys see what's in front of them, how well they fit this program. ... We're going to give them every opportunity to come in and achieve early success. ... It's definitely going to help the competition in each room."
Rod Orr: "I think Rod was one of the stars of this class. You look at his length, athleticism, you go from his junior year to senior year of film, you see unbelievable growth.
I thought this year was one of the best tackle prospects, his senior year, of anyone I saw. .. He's definitely going to come in here and compete early I do believe."
On Josh Farmer: "Was actually the first to commit to us in this class. ... He was sitting at my desk and had an unbelievable celebration ... just seeing his work ethic, his desire to be great, he's done a remarkable job, just in his physical development. ... He was coached by a Seminole great in coach Corey Fuller. ... That toughness, that overall mindset of being able to work for what you want. Josh has overcome a lot throughout the course of his life."
On portal: "it's the first year of the transfer portal, the possibility of immediate eligibility and making sure we're exploring all options. ... We'll probably look to sign three more receivers potentially ... and we've got a couple of things for the February signing period that we're excited about as well." Says he's excited about some options on the O-line as well. "I think we're handling this new age of recruiting really well, giving ourselves flexibility."
"We really try to plan out all those things and leave ourselves great options moving forward."
The FSU social media team: "I can not take credit for the idea. Our recruiting department, it's a wonderful group. ... They came to me with the idea ... I thought it was a tremendous idea, the amount of work that went into that ... it was special. This is a day they'll remember forever. ... To be able to have that graphic, it's just a testament in how we're trying to do things. The work that goes into it. ... So grateful for everybody involved. They definitely stole the show today and did an incredible job being able to celebrate our newest Seminoles."
That's a wrap for Norvell. That's a wrap for the day.
Hope you guys are having a great week.
We'll see you soon!
Peace. Love.
