Not a shock at all that the youngsters can hold their own against an A-squad top-end CONCACAF team. If the powers-that-be would've recognized this 2 years ago (like many others have), we would've been playing in Russia.
Also not a shock that the team played better (especially when factoring in the competition) vs Costa Rica than they did vs Panama while Bradley sat the bench.
I do have a concern about Steffen, though. He was very obvious the #1 keeper option for the USMNT, but with his sale to Manchester City, I'm wondering how much playing time he'll actually get as opposed to be the everyday starter at Columbus. Hopefully he gets loaned out to a top-end-league team and gets time, but for his development I fear this might not be in his best interest. Can't argue about the $ he's getting, though.
