A) The field is horrendous. We need to go away from these install-a-field matches.

B) Jordan Morris looks like an intriguing player for us going into the next WC cycle

C) On the same note, Alvaredo looks the same at CB for us

D) Michael Bradley is still overrated and is playing atrociously. I wish we could move on from him.

Jordan Fing Morris, what a cool story and finish for him. BTW apart from Bradley's lead foot touch, I think he has played well so far **TONIGHT**

A college kid on the USMNT--- great story. Is this a win for college soccer? I find it interesting that he is even playing given Klinsman's distaste for the college game here in the US.

Good win last night.

My post was at halftime, at which point he had only completed 56% of his passes. No matter where on the field you are, that sucks at this level, much less at an attacking center mid position.

But I'll take the Dos a Cero!

I thought Bradley looked the best he's ever looked tonight. I'm not that concerned with passing percentages. That pitch was so terrible that I'm surprised anyone could complete a pass. I've never seen a ball bounce like it did out there. Unfortunately I think Bradley is the best midfielder the US has right now. To me, the CAM may be one of the more difficult positions to play and the US just has not had any success in building them. If you watch the MLS, its one area where many teams (Outside of maybe Orlando who lacks strikers) are poor. It is, to me, the biggest separator when comparing the MLS to the EPL. The US has a number of great goalies, lots of good defense, a few passable strikers, but our real weak area is in the midfield where we seem to lack both the technical skill to hold onto the ball and complete passes with great touch, along with the creativity to play the ball into good positions to setup our strikers.

That field was a disgrace. I thought Lalas said it right. The fans showed up and were great, the players showed up with a ton of energy, both groups deserved a lot better than that crap surface.

Alvaredo really impressed me. He was positionally pretty sound and, more importantly, his impressive quickness allowed him to recover from those few occasions where he wasn't quite in position.

I though Mixx was great. He's finally getting stronger, which is allowing him to be more physically aggressive.

Good for the college kid for scoring. I looks pretty pacey. Will be interesting to see if he develops or if he's just Jurgen's flavor of the month.

I like Zardes. He's like the energizer bunny out there.

Good post. I agree about Bradley--- if positioned right he is one of our best players. Good analysis on EPL/ MLS differences...

I thought pass completion was football ;-)

Not sure what the heck the OP is referring to about Bradley...after last year where he slumped badly at the worst possible time in a WC Year he has played great in 2015...he played well again last night

Sorry, you and I saw different things then. Yes, he was brutal during the WC, but you could see that coming. He hasn't done anything to show that he's "better" since then, IMHO. As stated above, the bigger problem is that the USA just doesn't have anyone to truly supplant him, unfortunately. As an attacking mid, he's killing any chance we have of being an offensive threat right now (and since over a year ago) outside of corner kicks.

My comment about not worrying about pass completion was only in relation to the game last night. The pitch was so terrible that it was almost impossible to complete a pass.
