Great action this episode, but as usual numerous things to scratch your head on the writing.

All the people with critical injuries and no one is on guard to watch for possible turns?

Speaking of guard duty, they just had a major attack and every single person hits the sack? Not one person stays up to be on the lookout.

Talk about some sound sleepers. I know anytime in my life I’ve been crammed on the floor with a ton of people, someone is always up tossing and turning. But here they are all out cold. Considering they just had a life and death battle, you would think adrenaline might be a factor and just 1 person would be awake. Instead a walker can come in and start gnawing on people and many are just sleeping right through it.

The entire attacking savior army is lined up in front of the house. Maggie’s squad was ready for them. Yet when they flipped the lights and opened fire, they almost all got away.

Brilliant move to open the gate and just let the saviors walk in to start the battle. Would have been real dumb to reign down fire on the convoy as it pulled up to the fortified wall.

I really hope the kid is dead, idiot. And I know the kid is bloodlusting to find his brothers killer, but come on writers, him opening the gate made zero sense.

Well technically there was someone watching the wounded. He was asleep though and missed Vampire Walker Tobin. Why wouldn't he just eat random dude and mean Doctor lady? Nope, just vampire nommed on them.

Those people are some damn light sleepers.

Maggie's plan worked pretty well I thought. But really this crap will never end until Negan and/or Rick die. So we've got 3 more episodes of fighting and randos dying.

All kids suck on this show. Carl was the worst too when he was younger. I'm waiting for Judith to grow up and start being the worst too. I see it now...."Where's Judith?" It's time for Henry to look at the flowers.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm interested to see what Jadis is going to do with Negan.

Is the trio from last week in the comics? I have never heard anyone mention them. Are they gonna be another waste of time and filler like the garbage pail gang?

With the infections resulting from the walker-blood tainted weapons & ammo, I'm still wondering why all the saviors didn't get sick last season when they ate the pigs that had been fed walker-slop.

How about how in past seasons they've slathered themselves in walker guts in order to not be smelled by the walkers. Now suddenly exposure to walker guts will make them turn? Lazy writing.

I think it's ok to put it on you as long as you don't get it in you. That's why they tipped the arrows and blades.

Used to be must watch TV for me, now I will watch some episodes and if I skip around no biggie. Show has gone from must watch TV to see what happens next to hey it is fun to watch. We came late to the party and binge watched about 6 season maybe in a very short time. The last 6 episodes or so we haven't watched at all and I am turning it on to catch up today since I work from home all week.

I love how the one walker fell down the stairs next to where 30 people were sleeping but not one person woke up. I wish I slept like that. :)

Watched a couple episodes yesterday, don't know which ones. It was the episode where the dump people are all killed and the crazy dump people leader used the car shredder to dispose of all the walkers. That was awesome and pure brilliance!

Hope that little turd is zombie snack

Rick is starting to speak in very short abbreviated sentences. There was one segment that was almost comical.

Yeah, looking forward to what garbage pail lady is gonna do with Neegan and Lucille.

I thought the same thing at first and complained but my wife rightly pointed out that they’ve just had two massive firefights and traumatic events in a less than 48 hour period so once they were asleep they would be OUT. And I agree.

So far this part of the season has been much better than the first. As always though there are things that are problematic. Like how in the hell did Negan wind up knocked out after running from Rick and how did the garbage lady just happen to find him? Really?

As others have said, enough with the stupid kid plots.

The people giving away the book just seem so out of character to the environment we know.

As for soaking the weapons, that comes from the comic, so you can't blame that as lazy writing on the part of the writers here. I'd say the difference in wearing it and having it on the edge of the weapon is getting it into your bloodstream. Sure, there's a chance of that if you're cut and cover yourself in it. But if you don't have any major cuts, it's probably ok.

Good article.

"The Walking Dead is a pale shadow of what it once was. AMC's zombie drama has always had problems, but for a long time those problems were just minor annoyances rather than show-breaking calamities.

Season 6 is when things began to slip. Alexandria slowed everything down, introduced us to a bunch of characters we didn't care about, and paved the way for all the bad stuff to come.

Glenn's death and the arrival of Negan was when things really started to spin out of control, and aside from an episode here and there---diamonds in the rough, if you will---the show is mostly pretty terrible. Both Seasons 7 and 8 have been unmitigated disasters.

Bad writing, bad acting, bad editing, bad direction, cheap CGI, bad dialogue...the list goes on and on and on. Characters constantly do stupid things for no conceivable reason other than to move along the plot. In Sunday night's episode Simon and his goons walked out into an open field in front of the Hilltop mansion despite knowing that a heavily armed group of fighters could very easily open fire on them at any time. This is not how people act.

Also in Sunday night's episode, our band of survivors expressed confusion that someone turned without being bitten. But this has been the accepted rule since Season 2 when we learned that anyone who dies will turn unless they take a knife or bullet to the brain. Oh, and nobody woke up when a zombie fell down the stairs. And no guards were posted anywhere. And that kid let all the Saviors out, but they could have escaped anyways because there were no guards. Oy vey. It's exhausting just thinking about how stupid this show has become.

The Walking Dead's writers and producers think they can get away with lazy writing and half-baked plots that make their characters act like idiots. And maybe for a while they could get away with it, but ratings are slipping into the gutter because viewers are getting fed up."

Unmitigated disasters? Hyperbole much? It's especially funny since all of the reasons in the next paragraph for claiming it's been an unmitigated disaster have been the same thing we've been bitching about since season 2.

I'm ready to move on from the Saviors and very interested to see if the take the next bad guys from the comics. Might be hard to do since they killed off Carl.

Oh yeah, another thing I forgot to mention. How did the kid get the key to the pen? You know there is likely only 1 key. Wouldn't you think that'd be on Maggie or somewhere really safe?
