We would have possibly won without the 4 straight turnovers to start the second half, but no way do we beat them badly. Our defense had no chance of stopping them.Product of a system. Its water under the bridge, but we would have beat them badly in a rematch.
What did he look like? Was he accurate?
I believe its easy for any of us on this board to say he's a product of the system at Oregon, but he was drafted by the Titans largely on how the media perceived him. Not saying he the Titans are stupid but its like you hear something long enough...you start to believe it yourself. I believe they honestly think they could mold him into the pocket passing QB. Not sure what to make of it, but at some point these NFL teams have to believe these type situations aren't gonna work. Hopefully I'm wrong for Mariota's sake, because I'm sure the kid is trying really hard. From the outside looking in, he's gonnna be a back-up. JMHO
I honestly want to see all these spread QBs keep failing. At some point the kids will catch on.
Thus pro style coaches like Jimbo will continue to get the best QBs and hopefully the talented kids at other spots will want to play with them. Then hopefully the spread attack will eventually become less popular and we can get back to traditional ball.
In that Winston piece about him throwing interceptions they mentioned that MM hasn't thrown 1 in 4 practices. I have a feeling that he's become a check down artist.
just looked like the typical 5th round QB pick along side Mettenberger, just a little shorter. Odd watching him go through routine snaps drills while Jameis has has become the face of Tampa Bay and is holding covert practice sessions with his WRs.
Everything you said does not even come close to what his teammates, analysts at the practices, and others who have watched him practice are saying.

Can you elaborate? I am asking this as a Titans fan who lives in Nashville. Everything I have read or heard is that he is way ahead of expectations, anticipates throws better than expected, looks off defenders better than expected, is extremely accurate, etc etc. What did you see that no one else apparently is seeing?
All I saw were QB drills but he looked smaller than advertised, not much zip on the throws and really didn't look much faster than the other QB that had during the scrambling drills. I am just used to seeing clips of Winston who's slinging the ball and looking like a top 5 pic.
While Mariota might look great so far in practice, lets not forget Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for a career-high 6 TDs and 0 INTs in a game last season against that Titans defense. The defense was not good then and I'm skeptical they've improved much at this point of this season.
