Hey folks, today was the last "open portion" of practice for the media before Saturday's spring game.

The team was in shells today. Couldn't ask for better weather. Probably mid-60s and clear.

We were only out there for three periods, and it was almost all position groups working on fundamentals. So there's not a TON of insight to gather, but here are some observations from Aslan, Gene, Corey and myself.

They continued to split the LB segment into smaller groups, which they've been doing the last couple of weeks. Raymond Woodie would have the biggest group, Mark Snyder would have a few guys, and GA Joe Bowen would have others.

Snyder worked with three players during that breakout session -- Leonard Warner Josh Brown and Adonis Thomas. Warner confirmed earlier today that he has made the move to DE, so maybe all three have. Not sure on that. Josh Brown also had a brace and sleeve on his right leg.

Bowen was working with Amari Gainer and Hamsah Nasirildeen. Looked like they were working on some blitz techniques. And Woodie had the rest of the linebackers.

DL Ja'Len Parks and LB Emmett Rice (hamstring) were watching but not participating in drills.

Harlon Barnett had the DBs working on different pass-coverage techniques. During one portion, he had them dropping into coverage and then breaking on underneath routes. If they didn't pick off the pass, it looked like they had to do push-ups. Carlos Becker was in a blue non-contact jersey.

Odell had the defensive tackles and defensive ends working together on assignments based on how the offensive line's protection was set up. Still doing a lot of teaching.

On the offensive line, it looked like they were mixing and matching the lineup, possibly to get guys used to who they're going to be playing next to in the spring game (since the whole first OL won't be on same team). Looked like Cole Minshew was being held out.

QBs and skill position players continued to work on tempo, and that seems to be getting sharper.

We'll have practice video from Aslan and our intern Austin up soon.
