12:15 p.m. -- The last 7-8 periods were inside the IPF. Here are some highlights:

In 7-on-7, Jordan Young hauled in a nice pass from Tate Rodemaker for about 25 yards

In 11-on-11, Jordan Travis completed a deep ball to Andrew Parchment that was really pretty. He then had another one to McClain that McClain couldn't come down with. Would have been a nice catch. So that was a couple of really nice deep balls, but then Travis appeared to overthrow a wheel route.

Gainer had a PBU on a pass by Purdy

In the red zone, Travis tried to connect with Parchment but Brownlee had a nice PBU. Then he couldn't connect with McDonald in the back of the end zone. But he did hit Jordan Wilson for a short TD.

Tate didn't do much in the red zone. Looked like he held the ball too long one time, then had a couple of incompletions. One was great coverage by Travis Jay on McClain

Purdy threw a couple of TDs against the 3s on defense

Switched now to 11-on-11s in main part of the field

Travis' next series wasn't as productive. Forced one throw, then couldn't get much else going. Had some pressure from Jermaine Johnson on one. ... Toafili had a couple of very nice runs. He is special when he gets moving. Corbin had a couple nice runs as well.

Milton's next series didn't accomplish much. Completed a short pass to Pokey Wilson but not much else.

Tate's series was a little better. Nice completion to Burrell for a decent gain.

Jordan was back in and had a couple of nice plays. Completed a pass to Corbin for a decent gain and then had a big gain on what appeared to be a designed run.

Milton back in and didn't accomplish much, though not necessarily his fault. Pass rush was too much for the OL ... got sacked on one play, pressured to throw incomplete on another. Then looked like he had a completion to Wren, but Hunter Washington broke it up.

Norvell was getting onto the offense about pushing the tempo between plays.

Jordan Travis got sacked by Jermaine Johnson on the next series, but Travis then came back and hit a really nice deep pass to Keyshawn Helton on a well-designed play. It looked like Travis checked them into that play.

Milton hit Wren for a big gain on a screen later, but that was about it for the offense.

And that was a wrap for today. We'll have more coming.

12 p.m. -- Sorry, they moved inside for awhile, so we had to pack up and get into the IPF.

Here are some notes from the final part of the drills before they went inside.

11-on-11s -- 1s and 2s with Jordan and Milton taking turns

Defense again controlled most of the action
Running game couldn't get much room, and the QBs didn't get much time to operate.
Travis and Milton each had a couple of short passes, but nothing much. Milton did have one nice throw to McClain while rolling right, but only for about 5 yards.

With 3s and 4s -- DJ Williams got some room for a nice run. George Wilson Jr and Shambre Jackson were disruptive and affecting the pocket during the period. Corey Wren with good vision to find a crease on the left side for a clean run.

Will have more from the 11-on-11s inside the IPF in a moment.

10:40 -- WR v DB, 1 on 1's: Malik McClain with a good period, caught a back shoulder in tight coverage and also dusted the scholarship DB on another. Pokey with a deep TD catch via Tate Rodemaker. Jordan Young with a sliding catch. Kentron Poitier with a good catch on tight coverage. Shyheim Brown with a PBU. Good coverage by Kevin Knowles and Hunter Washington on their reps.

10:35 -- Special teams work -- 2 gunners and 2 blockers. Very fast moving groups so lots of reps. Norvell literally shouted out the following for their effort and execution: Malik McClain, Meiko Dotson and Travis Jay. Also Kalen DeLoach, Treshaun Ward, DJ Williams, Amari Gainer, Kentron Poitier and Lawrance Toafili clearly won and/or received praise from a coach immediately after

10:05 a.m. -- Lineman drill .... OL has 3 or 4 guys going vs 2 DL -- there's always one double-team and then a one-on-one battle. Hard to tell who "won" the rep because they're going between both groups so fast, plus we're not sure if the goal to to hold the edge or what gap to shoot.

That said: Jarrett Jackson, Robert Scott, Josh Griffis, Byron Turner Jr., Dennis Briggs and Jermaine Johnson had reps where they clearly got the better of their matchup

On the other side of the field ... They're doing kind of a half-field 7-on-7, with QB and 3 WRs going against 3 DBs. Working on a lot of bubbles and things like that.

Dent had a nice play beating a blocker and making a tackle on a run. Then a couple plays later, he came up and got juked by Ja'Khi Douglas after a short pass. ... Parchment had a really nice block on Dotson. ... Shyheim Brown broke well on a pass from Tate to Jordan Wilson and broke it up. Should have picked it. Nice play though. ... Keyshawn Helton continues to set the standard in all areas. Just blocked a DB like 20 yards downfield. Dugans loved it. ... Koby Gross had a nice block on Travis Jay to spring a pass.

LBs and RBs working on pass-rush/pass-protection ... Toafili got beat a couple times but came back and won a few reps. Got praise from the staff.

9:25 a.m. -- Just finished our video portion. Aslan will have that up shortly.

During the brief 11-on-11 portion, there were a couple of highlights.

Treshaun Ward broke a nice run and showed some speed getting to the second level. He got love from Corbin and David Johnson afterward.

The defensive front handled the offensive front pretty well after that -- both first and second team.

Travis Jay had a really nice play in run support. Norvell praised him afterward.

Jarrett Jackson had a couple of nice plays. He continues to look like a guy who can contribute in the DT rotation.

During 1-on-1 drills pitting skill players versus defensive backs, Travis Jay lined up with DBs for most of the drill. But towards the end of the drill, he moved over to the other line and took a couple of reps with the skill players.

Will have more soon.
