Well we are back into the negitives

We are balmy in the upper 40’s with several inches of rain. Ground is thawing like crazy and mushy.
Hang tuff, FargoNole.

Frigid Atlanta overcast and rainy all day, but mid 50s. Supposed to hit 60 tomorrow. I've live here 40 years now and never know from day to day what it's going to be like. Most schizophrenic weather anywhere.

I remember coming home to a little rental house one night years back after work at a ski area. The pieces of PVC plumbing on the kitchen floor had me puzzled until I realized that they were from the water intake behind the washer... the water inside the house had frozen and pipes busted all over the place. The place just had a wood stove for heat and I was working doubles on the slopes, so the fire would ebb pretty low before I could get home to stoke it back up.
It was sub zero for several days. We literally slept with the dogs piled on the bed as we all huddled for warmth.
Stay warm, 11.

My in-laws landed in Fargo last night. They're spending Christmas with my wife's family up there.

The funny thing is they are both Nodak born and raised but get cold in 60 degree weather.

60 degree coastal weather can feel pretty cool. Damp cold.

+22 with wind gusting to 18 mph, as accuweather puts it “ real feel “ of +11

I can see that. My in-laws and wife tried talking me into going up there to Fargo and the MN Lakes area for Christmas. I said not a chance in hell.
I just checked and it's -18 where they are now. There is absolutely NO way - not in this lifetime.
We spent one Christmas in Madison WI and the high was -1. Worst Christmas ever. Cold weather and I just don't get along well.

I don't think they've left the house in DL at all today

Had to send my battery to the great beyond today.. 130 $ later my hope is the car will still start tomorrow and the weekends - 25 is not playing around

I have seen snow coming from my breath on some sub zero days. Cover your skin.
We have actually put a blanket over our hood on a few rare instances. Try to aim your car away from the prevailing wind. Don’t go mote than a few days without starting your car and letting it run a few minutes.
Up where you are, I am sure the diesel owners are plugging up their block heaters to enable starting.

I heard the high up there on Saturday is going to be a blistering 17 below zero. Y'all can keep that mess, lol

Our downstairs furnace went out Tuesday overnight. It was 49 degrees in my living room when I woke up this morning.

What do you set your thermostat on when it's that cold and does it just run constantly?
As the negative teps affect the life of a battery,it cant produce the cranking amps to allow the motor to turn the oil in the car. the oil turns to gook. the battery I had had a 100 % charge but it had a bad cell
