im heading up for my annual father/kids trip to Tallahassee. Thursday we head up for the baseball opener, some softball Saturday, and roundball Sunday. We have done one of these weekends for four years in a row now. I graduated in 1996, the days of Nicholson’s farmhouse and barnacle bills to name a few. We didn’t know barnacle bills was no longer and we were bummed last year.

So, to my question. . .

What are the newer, similar, out of the ordinary places for us to go eat and hang out at? My daughter is 11 and my son is 8. They love tally, but I’m looking for something new to take them to. We discovered blaze pizza two years ago, and that’s a must again.

I may be alone in this but living on the east coast the last 15 years, every time, EVERY DAM time I get back home, I must have a Lindys chicken sandwich. Not pimping for them but they still have a couple locations. Dammit, now I'm drooling...

For something different maybe an educational visit to the capitol on friday. See the history museum, check out the legislative chambers 22nd floor view and old capitol.

Btw the softballl showdown this weekend against Minnesota and Michigan will be excellent. Michigan brings a big group of fans.

Isn't "Spirit" or "spear it" an FSU themed restaurant? You might enjoy that.

Yeah, Spear It is fantastic and is definitely a favorite of ours. We have two kids, both boys, 10 and 7 in age. The love that place.

Corner Pocket for lunch or an early dinner is also a good spot as well as they enjoy the pool and darts, while we enjoy the Proof and pretzels :D

Isabella’s on Gaines St in the middle of College Town is good. Wood fired oven pizza. As a full disclaimer, my brother-in-law is part owner. I still think it is good.;)

Not new, but have you ever taken them to the Junior Museum?
Could go eat at the Edison (or Shell) and check out Cascade Park.

If you find yourself on the north part of town, the new Bannerman Crossing development has some good dining and eating. You may run into Red Lighting at the sunglass place there. Recommend McGowans and Mom & Dads.
