We are bracing for winter Armageddon in Houston. so going to enjoy the end of times at a friends house on Clear Lake bayou. Elected to go with a tenderloin roast that I'm going to sous vide and reverse sear, Mr. Bs crab cakes, and sides. Apparently I was a good client for some of my experts because we will be enjoying a 2013 Silver Oak and 2012 Stags Leap. Probably pass out before the ball drops.

Ribs & chicken ready to finish on the grill, might also cook a slab of salmon that is in the freezer. Drink a few beers, watch this afternoon to see what fun new way the Bucs find to close out the season with another loss. Already have the alarm set for 11:50 so I can wake up to watch the ball drop. Then back to bed.

Somehow we became the hosts to an annual party. It's small and dull, but still requires work.
I've got the crud right now, so drinking to excess is not recommended.

We are at mom’s and gonna go mostly traditional with greens, black eyes, pork chops and corn bread. A little Italian sausage and rib eyes to supplement along with a Chianti, Pinot Grigio, and Blantons.
Happy New Year to all!

I haven't seen midnight on NYE for many years. Doubt that changes tonight.

For years, I was too drunk to make it until midnight, and then when I was sober on NYE, I couldn't keep my eyes open long enough. I just made it to NY's in some parts of the world, so my holiday is now over!

We're just going out to an early dinner at Stonewood Grill off San Jose - going to sit in the bar area and watch the Jags game. Probably sacked out by midnight!

We eat there every time we are in town, my in-laws love it.

What is your idea of winter Armageddon? I live in Vermont so it’s been below 0 during the day so no sympathy here lol.
.

Early to bed early to rise. On my way back to Tally from West Virginia. Last leg of my trip tomorrow.

Reading my book in bed around 9:15 and then I’ll fall asleep around 10:30. My wife will go to sleep a little later (as usual). If we end up having “fun” I’ll still go to sleep well before midnight.

I told our kids NYE and Valentines Day followed by Cinco de Mayo are the biggest rip offs (cost inflation).

Wow. Nice wines. Happy New Year to u!!

Driving back to ATL from PC. Had a great week with family, but ended it a few hours before the NY. Didn’t want to be spending tomorrow on the road.

I’m getting old.

Drove back to Tallahassee from Key West today. A few beers at home and hitting the bed at 1210.

Stonewood??? Ew!! Hope you took two imodiums beforehand.

Probably just stay home and eat chili. It's going to get down to 15* tonight!

Seriously- what is up with this weather?!! Early dinner in Southlake and about froze our behinds off between the car and the restaurant.

Made pizza on the grill. Want to go to sleep but my 8 year old has a mission and that is to see midnight. So tired

Our son flew back in from a three week business trip yesterday. He missed Christmas dinner so I'm doing a reverse sear on some 2" ribeyes starting them on the smoker. At least that's the plan if the weather holds.

Some seasoned garlic butter on top.

In bed since Thursday with acute pancreatitis...rest assured this was the crappiest New Years ever...on a positive side, I've lost 15 pounds (started Tuesday) so I shed anything I added during the holidays...

We took the kids to the NYE daytime party at the Jacksonville Zoo, picked up a Papa Murphys pizza on the way home and zonked out by 11:00.

Today we're making seafood gumbo, black eyed peas and cornbread. My mom and sister are bringing collard greens.

My black eye peas are soaking now. I'll get some collards out of my garden later today. My Pittsburgh wife's pork and sauerkraut are in the crock pot.

Let me guess, you spent the night doing push-ups and yelling at the dog for wagging his tail?

The other day you said you needed to switch to vaping because the weed smoke was bothering your lungs, this is where my quote came from. Im sorry you are starting the new year off saltier than ever. Happy New Year!
