Hey, our defense is not elite this year. We know this. But with all of the missing parts ... well ... how could it be?
But even with us missing Thomas and Lyons and Green and Andrews and Marshall and Smith and other FR players we though would contribute we are still in the top 10 nationally in scoring defense. We also have a very good rushing defense.
Seriously, the only thing that has been bad on defense is safety play where we have a couple of 3-stars (Hunter and Brutus) playing in key spots. Both game up long TD passes against Louisville too.
I'm happy with the play of the defense this year. I do think that we gave up one too many scores against Louisville, but with what we have to work with at safety it's hard to be upset with the overall play of the defense.
Elite? Nope. But our defense is playing pretty decently and it's got a chance to get better.
