Was at FSU '81-86'...had to take certain tests in what I think they called the ARC (Assess. Resource Center?) Like the basic math class tests and Theater 3000 tests. I don't remember which bldg it was...thx

I can’t remember the building name but, it was right there on Landis so I’ll assume you are correct.

If I remember right it was on the upper east side of Landis, there was a check-in counter, we'd fill in little circles with a #2 pencil.

Also received valuable training key-punching stacks of IBM cards and hoping they would run properly at the Love Building in the middle of the night.

'76/77 grad school in the dark ages...I'd never cut it now.

I will always remember my very 1st test at FSU was in the ARC...and I failed it! Fortunately it was the basic math class and you could retake it and they accepted the higher grade.
Back at my dorm (Smith Hall) after failing the test I remember thinking "What am i going to do now?" A life changing/defining moment for me.

After all these years this is all I am seeing....

I actually was a “ditch digger” (for water and sewage pipes) for the summer before I attended FSU in the heat of SW Florida....quickly scratched that of my career choices.

I was in temp housing for a week at Smith before getting moved to Gilchrist Hall. My first paper was returned saying, "If you want to stay in college you will need to learn how to write" I graduated on time in 4 years without failing a single course and still suck at writing.

I showed him.
