You would think verbal skill would be important in an athletic director, since a large part of his job is communicating with staff, donors, media, etc. And it is important. Here's the latest from Stan Wilcox:
"It was one of those things where you've really got to come to play every game," Wilcox said. "A team can get really hot -- if you look at their shooting percentage from the 3-point line and you look at ours, that there was really the game. It just happened to be our day we weren't on, and we weren't able to stop them from hitting theirs. They were just shooting lights out.
"That's going to happen during games during the regular season and particularly in the postseason, because of the enthusiasm. That's when the will to win really comes out. We've just got to learn, as a young team, we've got to learn that when you get into the postseason, that's when you've really got to keep that high energy up all the time."
