As I recall, the SEC gets 1.30 per month for each subscriber that lives in a state with an SEC team. The SEC demanded that it be part of a bundle, which is why many of us pay for it against our will. To be clear, the revenue for this channel can go up and down. B10 is similar. But it started much slower. The LHN contract is a fixed annual fee.

The SEC channel has been a big success, but it can only show one thing at a time. The SEC digital channel is only available to paying subscribers of the cable channel. The media world is changing as ESPN is transforming itself, not just cost cutting.

Doesn't it stand to reason that the SEC channel can be a victim of cord cutting? It's just math. So what happens next?

The ESPN news shocked a lot of people and Disney will only invest in a digital solution. Interesting times await
