Anyone get the "free" download registration pop-up in their sys tray? I've now received it on all my PCs/Laptops. I have Windows 7 (daughters have 8.1...that I dislike). Anyone have experience with Windows 10?
I just got a new computer with 7 a couple of weeks ago. The pop-up appeared and I reserved my copy. Windows 7 is "old" and 10 seems to be the way to go. That said, even though I will download my free copy, I will not install it for a few months, just to be sure that the bugs inherent in a new release get worked out first. Then I can install it and apply the inevitable patches that will come out.
Windows 10 will be available to download for free for any user using a licensed copy of Windows 7 or 8 for the next year. I would probably suggest registering for it now, but wait until its been out for a month or so to see how buggy it is. From people I know using the pre-release test versions, it is far better than 8 was and has a lot of great enhancements over 7 such as having Cortana built in. I think it's going to be a worthwhile upgrade for anyone using either of those OS's, but I always try to live off of the bleeding edge.
I too registered for Windows 10. I will probably upgrade to 10 on my tablet to start getting use to it and to get rid of 8.1. I'll probably wait to upgrade my other computers.
I'm a Mac user who just got a Windows pc for work purposes and I want to punch Windows 8.1 in the face so hard. I hate it.
I just talked to a buddy last night about Windows 10 - he loves it. He's a tester right now and says it's fantastic. He's currently working on my computer - taking the worthless crap off it to make it run more efficiently.
Anyway, looking forward to trying out Windows 10. I've only heard good things.
W-8 in on the laptop my wife's kids got her for Christmas. I hate it and pretty much won't help her when she has a question. I defer to one of the culprits who bought it.
