FSU sports information:

Florida State senior forward Makayla Timpson was selected by the Indiana Fever in the second round of the 2025 WNBA Draft, held Monday night at The Shed in New York City.

Timpson, who became the 17th draft pick in Florida State history, was selected 19th overall. The Edison, Ga., native is the first Seminole to be drafted since 2020 and highest since Leticia Romero was the fourth pick of the second round in 2017.

In her senior year, Timpson became the seventh player in ACC history to produce a 100-block season, breaking her own record at 103. She also broke her own single-season rebounding record at 350.

Timpson earned All-America honorable mention by the WBCA and Associated Press, finishing the season averaging 17.5 points, 10.6 rebounds and 3.1 blocks per game.

A two-time All-ACC First Team selection, Timpson tied the ACC Tournament record with eight blocks in the quarterfinal, and led all Power 4 players with 3.12 blocks per game. She was the only player to register three eight-block games this season.

Timpson leaves Florida State as the career record holder in rebounds at 1,094, and double-doubles at 47. She passed the marks set by Natasha Howard, who also joined the Fever in free agency this season.

The Seminoles finished 2024-25, 24-9 recording 24 wins for the first time in five years, while making an appearance in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Timpson finished her career scoring 1,706 points, ranking fifth in program history.
