That looks ugly up there. I just read that a pilot landed at Dulles in all that wind and said "pretty much everyone threw up." I texted my friend and he said that he rode the ferry home to Jersey and it was a brutal crossing.

It's been really windy since last night. Seems like every tree next to road has fallen down. Lots of missing roof shingles. They cancelled school for today.

I'm about an hour north of NYC, and it's been horrible here since last night, up to 60 mph gusts and steady wet rain. Looks like it will continue until tomorrow morning.
Currently without power, using my wood burning stove for heat, dealing with a sick 15 month old.
From what I could see on my 2.5 acres before the sunset, I have five trees down, two of which fell through my power lines, ripping the service off my house and lying perfectly across my driveway as if they were put there as a makeshift barricade. The utility poll that bridge the gap between the road and my house has been snapped in half, which means that even when power is restored to my neighborhood, I will still be without it.

That's the leg you're stuck getting fixed, right?

Power company responsible for the pole and getting service to my house, I'm responsible for having it attached. They are also responsibility for cutting trees away from the power lines, but in responsible for the cut wood. Only know this so well because I just went through it in October, minus the blocked driveway.

On a related note, tomorrow morning in crntral florida it is supposed to be so cold that i might have to put the roof up on the jeep

Thanks, man. Mom and little one are sleeping, I'm keeping the tire going. Have to get outside and get another load, but trying to wait out the wind because of the trees. Just read online that an 11 year old boy died in a nearby town when a tree fell through his roof. 5 deaths already reported from falling trees thus far. RIP

Winter storm could bring 15-foot-high seas to Palm Beach County

A wrecking ball of a winter storm is about to bust up the recent hot weather with a fury that meteorologists predict could bring up to 15-foot seas to Palm Beach County’s coastline and send life-threatening flooding into the Northeast.

A low pressure system, whose strength was still in debate just days ago, is now expected to undergo an explosive strengthening as it harasses states from Virginia to Maine with peak wind gusts of hurricane force possible along the coast. The forecast drop in atmospheric pressure of at least 24 millibars in 24 hours or less is called bombogenesis.

In South Florida, the National Weather Service is warning of coastal flooding, powerful rip currents, high seas and beach erosion building into Sunday through mid-week.

Please this is nothing wish it was all snow, lots of trees down and people without power but nothing too bad. For me in BK it just some wind and rain no trees down in the backyard and no flooding.

Maybe nothing for you,but there are 80k people without power and the first restoration aren't slated until March 5th.

Losing power for a couple of days is not catastrophic. Some of us have lost power for 5 or more days. I bought a generator. Great insurance as I haven't lost power for more than a couple of hours since. :)

Quit being such a tough guy. A poster has already said there’s a small child at home. That’s an intense situation

Agreed, but just went through the same thing in October and was out for 5 days because service was damaged. Funny thing is I am supposed to have a standby generator installed later this month...

Where are you at? My company is based out of Chester.

I feel your pain my brother. Personally, I had to wear long sleeves when hopping on the motorcycle today.

I cast the exact same spell with my generator purchase last fall.

Where I'm at we had gusts close to 70mph - no rain or snow though. Seems like there are quite a few people in my area that still don't have power.
Where are you?

We just got another weather alert about a second potential storm hitting late Tuesday night with the potential to drop 12 inches of snow...the hits just keep on coming.
Right now we are at my in-laws house in the Princeton, NJ area squatting with two dogs and a toddler in tow lol
