A friend of mine from high school lives out on Texoma and posted this on Facebook. Pretty interesting. Most people don't realize that every lake in Texas, with the exception of Caddo Lake in East Texas, is man-made.

Jerry Kutz lives on Lake Jackson. Two years ago that lake was nothing but wet weeds and no water hole, its good and full now. Awesome lake with all of the wildlife on it, birdwatchers paradise.

Hey, I'm still thinking of back in the day when it was full and a nationally known bass fishing lake.

Its the fullest its been since I've known Jerry and thats about 7 years. We couldn't even take his boat out for 2 years it was so low but its up pretty good right now.

Lake Jackson is doing well at about 85' elevation, when its full it rises to the mid-90's.

My point was that Lake Jackson drains and fills about every 20 years or so.

Lake Jackson is about 6 inches from capacity. It was over capacity 2 months ago. Fishing isn't what it was in 07-08, but I assure you its the best within a 150 miles with the exception of maybe Seminole. I fished a tournament of 24 a month ago out there and placed 4th. spots 1-3 each caught a 12lbs,10.5lbs and almost 9lbs bass to go with there other 4 fish ranging from 2-5lbs. It was about a hundred out with no clouds. absurd winds and a new moon. You do the math! Punch the mats boys!
