Orlando Magic. Is Steve Clifford on the hot seat?

Look at their roster. It’s bad. They need a complete tear down.

They have been horrible for a LONG time. Made some atrocious personnel moves. They have done the "tear down thing" literally 4-5 different times, each time playing with a completely non-competitive roster, but trying to peddle all kinds of marketing gimmicks like "heart & hustle," blah-blah-blah. But raising prices virtually EVERY SINGLE YEAR.

One of the great mysteries of the world is how Alex Martins, Magic CEO, maintains his job across multiple ownership groups and multiple horrible teams. He may have one of the best gigs in all of sports, honestly, where "results" simply do not matter.

I agree. $134,000,000 (7th highest in the league) should get a better ROI. Time for RDV sports to sell and bring in management that are honestly focused on winning from top to bottom. The tear down needs to start at the top this time. Bring in Shaq and some buddies to pump some life into what actually was a proud franchise until Bob Vander Weide decided to go on a bender.

Bob was the Don Juan of Orlando and Grand Rapids. Married into that DeVos fortune, and then had side-action much (maybe all) of the marriage. Finally busted. Collected 8-figure consolation prize, and resumed his cavalier pursuits. Maybe his kids hate him — and some in the community regard him as a bum — but it worked out pretty well strictly from a financial standpoint. Life is funny like that.
