They're changing it up tonight with DC Adam Fuller instead of Norvell, giving the HC off tonight for his birthday. There will be a few segments with Fuller, then with Dillingham. Quotes coming from Fuller.

On big picture what did FSU do right against UNC: Guys a did a good job of executing the plans. Communication and ability to play with each other is improving. It takes guys playing with each other and off of each other.

Deckerhoff points out the defense is getting better as the season goes on, and Fuller say “you’re supposed to.” Says they had confidence going into the week. Knew they had better football in them…Just proud of the way we finished that game.

Fuller shouts out the FSU fans who made the trip up to North Carolina

They haven’t played to their standard early at corner, but the past two week they’ve played much better. Some of it has been continuity and they way they are practicing.

On the fourth quarter goal line stop: It really builds that confidence. Just because they ball is down there doesn’t mean they have points. Red zone defense is critical.

On confidence: says it’s gotta be real. Gotta go back to your training.

On the UNC preparation: Says every week is its own week. Wanted to establish a tighter rotation with the DBs for more consistency. They had some history with UNC after last year so that sped up preparation. Year 2 playing teams a second time has helped the process. Week of practice went really well and that showed up on Saturday.

On coaching against great players. Said sometimes the focus defensively is on them but other times calls stay the same. You can’t focus on them every play because an offense will see it. Explain to the players that a call is used to take the player out of the game, but that might not even apply to 8 or 9 of the defenders on the play.

On prepping for an offense, do you begin with quarterback? Fuller said you try to write the definition of what the offense is. Chapter 1 is usually the quarterback but not all the time.

On DL and DE Jermaine Johnson: He’s headed up the success with being active behind the line of scrimmage. Then his mindset and aggressiveness with his preparation and how he practices. Keir Thomas has as big of an impact as Jermaine with his leadership and toughness. Said he thinks Lovett is playing as good as any defensive tackle in the country right now.

On the LBs improving. So proud of Kalen Deloach. Playmaking has really shown up this year. Said he was banged up going into the game. When they asked him how he was feeling before the game, he said 10/10 and there was no way he was a 10. For him to say that shows the young man that he is. He’s a shining light. Amari Gainer is playing hard. DJ Lundy is really showing out for a redshirt freshman.

On DB Jammie Robinson: Fuller pointed out for recruits that defense will use you in multiple ways if you have the skill set. Said it used to be that if a safety was your leading tackler, that’s not good. But football is changing. Jammie is a sure tackler.

That is all for Fuller.

FSU OC Kenny Dillingham is coming up next for the second half of the program. Doesn't look like there will be an assistant coach and player guest tonight with the coordinators taking Norvell's place.

On the UNC win: Was a great challenge for the guys, was great to see them respond. Proved that hard work does pay off, if you keep working.

On starting 4 QBs in 2020: Gotta play the cards you’re dealt. All of those guys got in there and they got great game experience. When you’re on the field, you’re getting better. Nothing replaces a game rep.

On QB Jordan Travis: Extremely tough and extremely competitive. To see the joy on his face versus UNC. He brings that ‘something’ that nobody can explain just by how he plays the game. Say its infectious with his teammates. He’s dynamic. Not just with his legs. To see him go out there and play the game the way that I know he can play it, nothing better than to see the smile on his face with the success.

On WR Ontaria Pokey Wilson: One of the hardest working players on the team. When you have guys like him and Keyshawn and they’ve put in the work but it hadn’t translated yet, and then they see it [the success against UNC] and feel it. That’s how you build. So happy for those guys.

On WR Malik McClain: So physical. He is a junkyard dog playing wideout. Said they made him block safeties against UNC and he blocked them all night long. Combined the mentality with his physicality. Credits his parents, said McClain’s dad was in the military.

On the OL, Dillan Gibbons: That’s where everything starts. When those 5 are healthy and on the same page, that’s where the game starts and ends. They were battling through injuries. Mo [Maurice] Smith coming back is huge for them. Rob [Scott] and Dillan [Gibbons] playing banged up. Said they’re all fighting through it and playing for each other.

On the RBs: Said the top two both root for each other. Treshaun Ward has really good field vision. Jashaun Corbin hits the hole. They want to see each other succeed. Everybody is playing for each other. Everyone wants to succeed badly. That’s why they’re getting slowly getting better each week.

Really funny moment here if you have ever been around Norvell or Dillingham. Fan question was How do you keep the energy high during the bye week? Dillingham smiled and said “walk in our building and you’re going to know how we keep it high.” (My words here: I would say this if they were 2-4, 0-6, or 6-0. Those two are extremely always high-energy every time I have ever been around them, whether it was early in the morning for practice or at 3 AM during the midnight madness. So that question kind of made me chuckle.)

On how they operate: You better come to work and you better enjoy it. If you don’t enjoy the process of getting better, then you are going to live a miserable life. If all you are working for is the end result, what happens every day of the week other than game day?

On the TE and the versatility: We ask a lot of that position. Last week Camm McDonald caught two big balls on some screens. Tight end blocking is critical to be able to run the football.

Dillingham said during the bye week he likes to set new goals for the QBs. Said they have gotten so much better. Said Chubba Purdy is benefitting from his first true season of prep. Tate Rodemaker is getting better and better every day. Said McKenzie Milton makes himself better, Norvell better, everybody on the team better because of the adversity that he has faced.

And that is all from tonight everyone. Have a great night. Check back in the morning for Tuesday practice updates.
