The 12th-ranked Florida State Women’s Basketball team battles rival Florida for the 85th time on Friday night, facing the Gators (3-0) on the road at 4 p.m. at Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center on SEC Network+.

The Seminoles are looking for consecutive wins over SEC programs after knocking off No. 11 Tennessee in a 92-91 thriller at the Tucker Center on Nov. 9. FSU climbed six spots in the AP Poll, making it the fourth-highest mover of the week while giving the Seminoles their highest AP rank since being 11th on Jan. 6, 2020.
Florida State’s fast offense has done an exceptional job at keeping its turnover margin low through two games. The Seminoles rank first in the ACC and eighth nationally with a +14.0 turnover margin per game. FSU has totaled 157 possessions through two games and has just 20 total turnovers to 31 assists.
Florida State alumna and coach Brooke Wyckoff makes her 18th appearance against Florida either as a head coach (third time), an assistant/associate head coach (10 times) or as a student-athlete (five times). In her interim head coaching debut on Dec. 1, 2020, FSU defeated Florida in Tallahassee 81-75.
Junior guard O’Mariah Gordon is showing an impressive 11 assists to just one turnover while leading FSU averaging 21.5 points. The Sunshine State tandem of Gordon (Bradenton) and Ta’Niya Latson (Miami) won Florida Dairy Farmers Miss Basketball in 2021 and 2022, respectively.
Florida leads the all-time series against the Seminoles 45-39. After carrying a 16-game losing streak to UF from 1993-2003, FSU owns a 15-5 record against the Gators from 2004 to the present.
