The Florida State women’s cross country team concluded the 2024 season at the NCAA Championships on Saturday morning in Madison, Wisconsin.
Bieke Schipperen led the way in the women’s 6k with a time of 20:16.9, placing 57th. Agnes McTighe followed in 130th, clocking a time of 20:43.9. Brooke Mullins was the third Nole to cross the line in 140th with a time of 20:45.9. Elizabeth Barlow competed in her first National Championships placing 176th (20:59.8). Rebecca Bergnes rounded out the scoring in 221st at 21:24.8.
"You know, there is nothing comparable to the national cross country championships,” said FSU head coach Cody Halsey. “It’s brutal out there, but it’s also such a humbling and rewarding experience. It was a privilege to coach this group this year. They came a very long way in such a short span, from being ranked 11th in the ACC and 8th our region to 24th in the entire country.”
FSU placed 24th with 572 points, wrapping up the season collecting two regular season wins and four all-region performers.
"This is a testament to their constant dedication to the goal, which was always to be here on this day,” added Halsey. “We are so much closer to the end goal than we were a short year ago. I couldn’t be more excited for the future of our program.”
