The No. 22 Florida State soccer team (8-2-2, 3-2-1 ACC) hosts its annual Paint It Pink game in a primetime battle with No. 23 Virginia (10-4-0, 3-4-0 ACC) on Thursday night. The Seminoles currently hold a 22-game unbeaten streak at home dating back to 2022.
Florida State and Virginia clash for the 40th matchup in the past 30 years, the Cavaliers are the second most played opponent in program history. The last meeting between the two sides was a top-3 battle in Charlottesville with Jody Brown scoring 47 seconds into the game for the 1-0 victory. The Seminoles are unbeaten in the past five games against UVA.
Jordynn Dudley drove a powerful shot into the bottom left corner for the winning goal at Boston College and continued FSU’s 46-game scoring streak. Dudley has registered a point in all four games since returning from the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup with the United States.
Taylor Huff leads the squad in all scoring categories with eight goals and six assists for 22 total points. Huff became the fastest to reach 20+ points in the past five seasons and is only 6 points away from reaching her point tally from last season.
The freshman class has performed brightly with a combined 40 total points, 13 goals and 14 assists. This marks the most freshmen goal contributions in the past five seasons across all three metrics. Wrianna Hudson and Ashlyn Puerta have each scored three goals and provided four assists while Dantas has scored four goals with two assists.
FSU has scored 37 goals in 12 games this season, the most in that span since 2021 (43). The defense has kept seven clean sheets including three straight to open the season.
Gates are scheduled to open at 6 p.m. and general admission is free. The first 200 fans will receive a free pink koozie and pink ribbons while supplies last. The 7 p.m. game will be available to watch on ESPNU. Live video and stats will be available at Seminoles.com.
