FSU sports information:
The No. 16 Florida State volleyball team (12-3, 3-1 ACC) dominated from start to finish on Sunday afternoon in a sweep (25-13, 25-13, 25-22) over Virginia Tech (6-8, 0-4) on Sunday afternoon at Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg, Va.
After a tight start to set one, FSU used a massive 11-1 run to take a commanding 21-11 lead. FSU closed out the 25-13 set victory thanks to a block from Khori Louis and Iane Henke. The Noles hit a season-high .667 in the set while holding the Hokies to a .000 hitting percentage.
The Seminoles picked up right where they left off as they jumped out to a 13-4 lead in set two. The Seminoles continued to role and led 22-9 and once again won the set 25-13.
FSU jumped out again in set three as it led 10-5, but the Hokies responded with four points to cut the lead to one. The Seminoles had another run of their own to take a 15-11 lead. The Hokies cut the lead to one at 16-15, but the Seminoles used a 6-3 run to create some space at 22-18. The Hokies would get within three at 23-20, but FSU closed out the match to pick up its third conference win of the season.
The Noles dominated in all facets of the match as they hit .356 while holding the Hokies to a .039 hitting percentage. Audrey Koenig recorded her 11th consecutive match with 10 or more kills as she had 11 kills on 22 attempts. Louis recorded nine kills on 13 attempts to go along with five blocks. Kenna Phelan led the way with nine digs for the Noles.
FSU will return home on Friday as they welcome No. 4 Louisville to Tully Gym at 6:30 p.m. on ACCNX.
