I wanted to see what kind of places were available for home game weekends and was pleasantly surprised to see 200 plus units just in the Tallahassee area available and many are super cool, new or fun looking.
One 3 bedroom unit I found in midtown is a brand new renovation, very well done, for $750 for the whole weekend including cleaning and all taxes and fees. If you rent that place with two other couples, your rate per night per couple would be $125.00 and you'd each have a bedroom, a bath, a kitchen...
Some of the units are 1 bedroom with a hot tub or pool for a total of $300 for the weekend. So if its just you and your squeeze, it would come to $150 per night for a romantic football getaway.
I saw another unit on a sinkhole, with a floating dock, in Crawfordville which is about 25 minutes south of Doak. It looked really well done, clean and fun, for far less than a boring hotel room.
And for you dudes looking for cheap, I saw one grad student is renting his 2 bedroom "FSU Man Cave" for something like $200 for the whole weekend. Lots of FSU memorabilia. Split that up four ways and you are staying for $25 per person per night.
Check it out. Visit AirBnB and type in Tallahassee and various home game weekends. If you scroll to bottom you'll see there are 200 plus for each of the home weekend dates.
I haven't searched Thomasville or Monticello yet but I bet there are some stunning opportunities there too.
