1. Please read the probable cause affidavit before commeting on cook. If you read it then you know its an extremely weak case. You dont have to be a lawyer to realize that however this plays out, there is almost zero shot cook is ever convicted of this crime. Drunk victim, shady timeline identifying cook, busted lip and she was hit 5,6 times by a football player??? one witness (presumably the only sober one) doesnt identify dalvin, etc.
2. The other players whoever they really are. No matter how much of a bad person Dalvin Cook is or is not, i really hope we dont have a group of 3 players (not one) that would let this happen. The incident described is way worse than DJ letting his emtions get the best of him. Whats desribed is someone beating someone up and i dont see our other players letting that happen. You could argue they were drunk but i would argue not all 3 were that drunk. I knew alot of football players in college and some drank heavy but most didnt. They are athletes, besides eating fast food, they take care of their bodies and they go out to have fun/meet girls. Its not a frat mentality like lets go see how many beers we can drink.
These two guys can also tell jimbo the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Wont they just lie to cover for cook? Maybe, but thats why Jimbo will make darn sure they understand that if they lie to him, they will be punished just as severly.
3. The timing couldnt be worse and besides the fact that this is a very bad incident with a victim, the timing is the 2nd worst part. No one would be jumping off cliffs, people would let due process play out, things would be bad but not anywhere near this nuclear meltdown level. So i encourage those looking to jump the seminole ship to wait and let this play out as you would if the timing was not so poor.
Dont worry if cook did it, he will be kicked off the team. If any of the players were at the scene and didnt immediately do everything in their power to stop it, they will be punished. But if he is innocent and plays football for the noles soon, please continue to support fsu and cook. He has had a couple minor issues off the field but everything i see on the field indicates to me he is a humble hard working player. Remember the humility he showed after the rose bowl as a freshman, that is rare.
Bonus thought - banning players from bars, especially those of age is a heavy fine to leavy but obviously the right call for the time being.
