ACC announces that teams with Covid outbreaks will be forced to forfeit.

This is an extremely unfair policy regardless how many conferences adopt it. We have seen first hand from last year that Covid poses nearly 0 risk to these players lives. What happens if vaccinated players are infected?

Why would a team with an 85% infection rate only be tested once a week versus a team with under 85%? Both the vaccinated and the unvaccinated players can catch and spread Covid.

This has nothing to do with players safety nor is it about the spread of Covid. They are just trying to pressure players to get the vaccine.

I guess the ACC forgot that vaccinated people are getting covid.
See Israel for example. Most new cases there are in the vaccinated.

Is this true?

shhhhhh. dont tell anyone. Just make sure you get your 10th booster and its ALLLLLL GOOOOOOD.......until the 11th one is needed
This has nothing to do with vaccine effectiveness. If 85% of our team is labeled fully vaccinated we can avoid robust testing and contact tracing. If we cannot reach 85% we will surely see at least one forfeit this year. And if we’re all praying for 6-6 or better, we better hope we don’t end up having to forfeit a winnable game.

Vaccinated players are not required to be tested unless there’s a “cluster” identified.

So basically if you don’t have unvaccinated players testing positive, vaccinated players are allowed to play whether they have the virus or not.

If Ole Miss can get 100% of their players vaccinated we can too.

Yes. And not just in Israel - all over the world - more vaccinated people are getting Covid than non-vaccinated.

COVID cases have risen steadily since mid-July in Israel. The government says that's mainly among UNVACCINATED children, but there are some breakthrough infections as well.

Israel's health ministry has cited studies that suggest the level of protection from vaccines drops over time, especially against the delta variant.

So, Israel wants people to get a third dose of a vaccine to boost those antibodies and increase their chances of fighting the disease.

I understand the policy my point is this policy is not about player safety it is about trying to force players to get vaccinated. This is shameful.

I would have not problem if we had to forfeit a game due to a player choosing to not get vaccinated. This is literally the definition of supporting our players and what they feel is best for them. This is a game, they should be supported for making whatever medical decisions they feel is best for them.

They revised numbers on that study and it’s not more in line with what’s happening here. Regardless I agree the policy isn’t based on any type of science.

Vaccinated people are actually spreading COVID more than unvaccinated. Why? They don't know they have it because they are asymptomatic or have a false sense of security and slight symptoms. Our government is full of evil morons that use fear to stay in power. Both sides of the aisle.
Any data to support that conclusion?

We better get our vaccination numbers up. I can’t even imagine how bad our season could get if we had to forfeit a game or 2 against some of our easier opponents.

Do they mention natural immunity in there at all? Do they care about giving vaccines or about the kids and staffs health? Certainly natural immunity would count towards the vaccine numbers. Yet another study this week from Emory University showing ...yet again....long lasting durable natural immunity. Hopefully they are following science

If you don't take all reasonable precautions you pay the price; if you take all reasonable precautions you can still end up with a forfeit that part is not fair.

96% of all ICU COVID patients currently in Jacksonville hospitals are....unvaccinated.
Including my nephew who's 33 and otherwise healthy, non-smoker and not fat. Spent a week in Mayo Clinic but he's home now. Thankfully he's got good insurance.

I hope the team gets to 100%. Were every one of y'all in Tally getting dressed for the Clemson game last season when you found out it was called off? I was. Don't want that to happen again this season.
Don't want to debate anyone. Won't debate anyone.

Vaccinated get it as well.

Hate to break the news to you but you can still get covid and spread with the experimental shot. And who's going to be responsible if someone has an adverse reaction to the shot?

Why on earth would anyone accept "offical government numbers" reported of any Covid "deaths" when it's well known that hospitals and health institutions get PAID by the federal government for every "Covid death" reported?

Do you all even know how many people who have died in car accidents, from gun shots and even heart attacks or strokes that have been reported as Covid deaths? A LOT.

The point here is the forfeitures are not based on the actual number of infected players on the team as they are not going to test as frequently if the team is vaccinated. This has nothing to do with whether the players are playing infected. They do not care whether players are infected, they are just trying to force the vaccine.
