When I spoke with President Thrasher on Friday, he confirmed that the university has attorneys looking into whether they can challenge to get Bobby Bowden's wins returned following the NCAA's recent UNC decision.

Here's the story: FSU considering push for Bowden's wins

While I'm sure everyone is glad to hear that, there is a little more to the story that we've heard over the weekend.

We're hearing (from second-hand sources, not directly from Thrasher) that FSU is not confident at all that they'll be able to get this done. It sounds like based on the way FSU presented its case and handled everything back then in 2009, they will have a tough time making the same arguments that UNC used.

I don't know all the details, and like I said, Thrasher did say they're looking into it. But from what we're hearing, there isn't a lot of optimism that this will happen. Just wanted to share everything we know.

We'll follow up to see if there are any further developments.
