- Cook went out 5-6 minutes into the game (IIRC). This changed everything offensively and Wake knew that. They focused on stopping the pass and it showed.
- OL played GREAT IMO. They gave Golson tons of time and the run blocking was improved. As I said, without the threat of Cook, Wake just didn't focus on the run.
- FSU missed 3 sure fire TD's due to the wind. Jimbo said this much in the post-game interview. 3 TD's to wide open WR were "short" due to the wind gusts.
- You can't understate the impact of losing Smith and Andrews so early. They are the 2 leaders of that defense and losing them minutes apart was a big deal. With that said, there's no doubt the pass rush needs improvement.
