Another Day, another false charge

My daughter is 16 (no pics) and is going into her senior year in HS. I have repeatedly told her that she can't wake up one morning, have regrets and cry rape if it didn't happen. That is not ok and it is not how you save face. Yes I am that kind of mom
The damage these people do to all actual sexual assault victims by making these blatantly false claims and then pursuing them w/ police and prosecutors is untold. Forget about the waste of money and resources by the arresting entity, the undermining of the credibility of legitimate charges is massive.
A year in prison and 3 years probation????
Seems reasonable considering what the now victim would have spent in jail, but still a bit harsh if we are trying to encourage other false accusers to come clean after the accusations are made....no?????

Imo, No it is not harsh at all. Again, where do the fb players go to get their reputation back? The accusations never die. Just ask Jameis Winston. Additionally, she caused massive misappropriation of resources aways from real crimes in the community. Finally, I have a very tough time w/ the argument that you must go light on admitted criminals on the theory that if you don't, others won't fess up to their lies. She didn't fess up for any reason other than her story didn't hold up under investigation.

That's a really long time to sober up.
I have a son and daughters. I wouldn't want either to happen,
What if it was the other way around though? If a girl decided to press charges 7-10 years later, should the sentence for the guy be shorter?
And no...if a person commits rape and found guilty, then they are guilty. I would think it would be hard to prove someone guilty 7-10 years later though, Would have to be some kind of different circumstance other than a girl simply deciding to file charges.
And I’m not saying this girls punishment is wrong. All I’m saying is there are young girls who freak out about whatever it is and get irrational and become unknowingly capable of saying a guy raped her when he did not. With time girl comes to her senses and realizes she messed up. If this girl becomes fearful of going to jail because the lie, she will more than likely continue to lie and stay irrational.....maybe.
Again...just playing devils advocate.

Am I the only one that's noticed that UCLA & Belem, the 2 guys that say this stuff never happens, avoid these threads like the plague?
I have never said that false allegations never occur, and I am not avoiding this thread or any other. Is there some question that you would like to ask me?
