I am going to Vegas in December for 5 days. We would like to take a overnight trip somewhere, driving distance. Been to Grand Canyon and Los Angeles is out.

Was thinking Zion and Bryce Canyon but not sure how much hiking these old Floridians would do in the cold.

Suggestions appreciated!

Zion is one of the top national parks in county. It is really cool and beautiful if you like hiking. While in Vegas I do recommend the Mob Museum.

Zion and Bryce and both be done as car trips - although I think Zion is now shuttle only. But maybe not in the winter months?
Anyway, lots of good stuff to see up that way without tons of rigorous hiking involved.

There are a bunch of bang up gun shops around there. You can set up a range anywhere you want to in the desert!

Yes, I went to Nassau and dove with Stuarts Cove. I have also dove multiple times in Jupiter with different boats with lemon, bull, tiger and lots of reef sharks. They are truly awesome creatures!

Thanks for the info!

the Zion shuttle doesn't run from mid-November until Feb/March so you can drive up the canyon that time of year. plenty of nice short walks in the canyon and it shouldn't be very icy by then.

Bryce is awesome but also 9000' and cold as balls in the winter. Trails probably snowy/icy as well. You can still drive out the road and back but Bryce is much more interesting if you can wander around below the rim, even for short walks.

Thanks. I will look into that.

Anyone have thoughts on Death Valley>

I'd recommend Zion also.
The Mob Museum is pretty cool too, but that's right there in Vegas. There's also one of those indoor sky diving places.
I hear the Mandalay Bay has some pretty good rates now...
