Man I'd love to be in Asheville right now. JEALOUS.

Just drizzle and flurry action up to this point in low elevation parts of Haywood County (Waynesville). We delivered a bunch of presents in multiple areas today, including Balsam which typically is hit early and hard during snow events. A guy at a food truck told me that all hail would fall on us, since Jim Cantore has been spotted around Asheville.
We have checked on some older folks and laid in supplies. I hope it snows arse deep to a giraffe.

Glad it's snowing there and not here. Unless I'm going skiing, I don't want to see it or have to shovel it.

Much adieau about nothing at this point. Still drizzling rain and temps in the mid/upper 30s, although Accuweather radar shows snowfall in the region. Predictions are still for a big dump.

I’d love to have a couple of inches, but alas I’m in Tallahassee, so it will likely never happen.

Something like 12” on the back deck, but freezing rain has mixed in at times and that packs everything down, making accurate measurements tough. One neighbor headed out around 5 this a.m. for work, so mobility is possible for experienced drivers with the right gear.
The 26 on the Saluda grade is stopped and thousands have no power. Our juice comes from HaywoodEMC, (think Talquin EMC) and we have not had any problems. They keep the right of ways cut back, which stresses some property owners, but they seem to like uninterrupted power.
I wish FSU soccer had another match today, I reckon the NFL is the next man standing. How bout the Noles basketball last night?!?!

Been looking at NC webcams and living vicariously on the American Weather Southeast message board. Hate hearing power going out in places. Freezing rain sucks!

FSU basketball is looking good. Can't wait to see conference play start.

The neighbor I used to live by in Greensboro said they have about 9 inches and still coming down pretty heavy. Ice is starting to mix in now. Glad I don’t live there anymore.

Don't be embarrassed. It could happen to anyone. Just talk to your Dr. (in confidence) and he/she can tell you the latest on all the latest E.D. research. Speaking for a friend..... ;) Make the call.

Glad I’m not the only “mind in the gutter” poster on here.

National guard is trying to get to thousands stranded on the 81 in the Tri Cities area (Bristol, Johnson City, Kingsport) that have been stranded since midday Sunday. We have a little wrap around effect snow going on this morning. Temps are very mild, just around freezing, so the powerless are not in serious, immediate, danger if they are in the dry.

My aunt's B&B outside Asheville is snowed in. They have power and plenty of food. Definitely a little jealous.

Inlaws outside Charlotte are also mostly snowed in, not a good idea to drive if you don't have to.

I got into GSO last night. The Triad got about a foot Sunday, and it snowed until about noon today. Interstates and most major roads have been plowed. A lot of side roads are a mess. Schools and most businesses closed today.
