Has anyone seen this? I'd do that in a heart beat.

Had them send me a catalog about 6 months ago. Now I just need a bunch to dough to go on every tour. Looks fantastic.

I'd love to do one of those. When my son is a teenager if they are still doing something like this I'll take him.

Just returned from a two week trip to the UK along with three days in the Normandy region. We hired a guide for a private two-day tour of the beaches plus a dozen or so sights related to the 101st AIrborne. The guided trip was costly but well worth it. Her company has done a great job of cultivating relationships with private land owners for access to battle sites not open to the public. They also had fascinating correspondence between the owner of the company and several members of the 101st. The owner asked dozens of questions about specific engagements and it was amazing reading the handwritten responses from Bill Guarnere, Babe Hefron and others. Brecourt Manor, St. Mere Eglise, Carentan, and other sites were amazing. The statue of Dick Winters near Bayeux was wonderful.

We booked through Overlord tours: http://www.overlordtour.com/. We did a personalized two day tour and our guide was Bridgett. I have to say, I was really blown away by her knowledge and the research their company has done putting together photo archives, maps, correspondence etc. I have read extensively about the subject over the years and her knowledge was truly impressive. I provided her a list of thihngs I was interested in and then she shared her perspective in many other sites and she was SPOT ON. You can check them out on TripAdvisor. They are averaging nearly a 5* review. That is what we will give them as well as soon as we catch up on our sleep. It was not cheap but it was worth it.

Thank you! My approach is like yours. I'm happy to pay for a high quality tour guide.
