it was Coral Sky...I've seen him there twice. Enough WEED being toked around that joint to get folks stoned a mile away.
He is playing a Jazzfest. I believe the second weekend. However, I, frankly, do not understand his popularity outside of listening to him while drinking Bud heavy at an ice house. More or less on the same level of David Allan Coe for me.Originally posted by seminoledq:
Vegas for me but I have only seen him in Vegas and Denver. Would love to see him in an outdoor venue in Florida. This week he is in Orlando Thursday and Tampa Saturday.

More like John Denver. Some people loved him, some people just didn't understand why anyone would go to his shows.
Yeah, it's good beer drinking music. Just never understood the following, like people were going to see the Dead. Always seemed like a bunch of middle age 'burb dwelling white people that want to get their toke, freak and drink on to escape from their mundane lives of little league games and PTA meetings...but that's just me
So a bunch of soccer moms getting hammered and flashing their yabbos for beer a tacos and you don't understand the draw?Originally posted by Fijimn:

I checked the Jazzfest schedule and he will be playing when I'm over there. Interesting choice: Buffett or Tony Bennet & Lady Gaga or PitbullOriginally posted by BelemNole:

Damn, I better buy some tickets.
Ha! Valid.
I saw him at the Hollywood bowl sometime around '94-95. Was a funny show. Was out visiting my folks and they thought it would be fun to buy tickets. Naturally I ended up going in stone sober, but this elderly couple sitting behind us keep feeding me jello shots all concert. My mom had no idea they were filled with booze, she couldn't understand why I would accept jello from a stranger.
The Who is playing Saturday....I have mediation on Friday....then a conference that kicks off Monday....do I just make it a weekend......hmmmm....Originally posted by BelemNole:
Pitbull, there is an artist I can't understand. Other than being a personality, I'm not sure what he does. I've been completely underwhelmed by every performance of his I've seen. The stuff for NYE was unwatchable.
That's a great deal. RIMS is at the convention center and I am dropping serious coin on a room that I know in a month will rent for 149 bucks.Originally posted by seminoledq:
Fiji, we have one of our CLE programs going on in NOLA W-F and a number of attorneys stay through the weekend for JazzFest because we get our room block rate to be valid through the weekend. ON Sunday go to Pitbull for the eye candy and Buffett for the beer drinking.
The price of alcohol at concerts/sporting events is horrifying. Went to Eric Church at Amalie in Tampa a few weeks ago. "Double" liquor drinks, which were singles at any normal bar, were $19. The mark up is unreal.Originally posted by LT4PLY:
He came to Tally when I was in college. Â It was the first and best time I had at one of his concerts. Â I lived on W. College about 2 blocks from the civic center and the prices hadn't gotten stupid.
The last time we went will likely be the last. Â We went and saw him in Jacksonville and I crap you not 4 margaritas cost $48. Â Tix were about 80 each and we were on the side with a crappy view. Â It was a thousand dollar weekend and not that great of a time.
You are able to watch the concert while parking cars? Didn't think they let the help actually watch...Originally posted by RTM58:
His backyard in Palm Beach or on his private island.
They often provide dinner as well at private gig.....Particularly funny cause I parked cars in Pam Beach to pay for college.Originally posted by Fijimn:
