First let me say that I think this team looked like a different team mentally tonight and while they made lots of young mistakes and even got outplayed at times - looked like they were learning from every play and getting better as the game went on. So I think Norvell is getting part of his job done.
But the call to go for it on 4th and 1 on our own 31 yard line at the end of the first half was a stupid - possibly game changing coaching decision. We were only down 7-0 at that point and our defense had just hit a huge 4-1 stop to give our offense the ball back. The momentum of the game was still in doubt and there was no reason to make such a desperate call.
They scored a few plays later to go up 14-0 and the entire momentum shifted until basically the fourth quarter. Really Really Bad coaching call.
