Bob didn’t want the job, but his agent kept his name circulating so that he would remain popular for a future NFL job. I don’t think the administration was the one circulating his name and negotiating behind the scenes. I’m theorizing that his agents were talking to boosters behind the scenes, giving them false information knowing that it would be all over social media.
