Brand Loyalty anyone?

Delta whenever possible
Hertz
Hilton
Wrangler Jeans
Boston Whaler
Harley Davidson
Mizuno irons
Adidas basketball shoes
Rawlings baseball glove
Captain Morgan rum
Hunt's ketchup

I have no golf ball loyalty. I like Srixon soft feel, but I'll play Titleist balls occasionally.

For the Solar Eclipse, my wife and I went up to Tennessee with my cousin, her husband, and a group of 6 friends. As an "experiment", I bought a collection of spiced rums to go into Coke, into pineapple juice, into a homemade mango and passionfruit punch and as shots. The spiced rums were from Captain Morgans, Kraken, Sailor Jerry's, Bayou, Chairman's Reserve, and Crusoe. The hands down winner and I think the only bottle we actually finished was Sailor Jerry's.

Sailor Jerry's is probably the only cheap liquor I can recall really enjoying other than Evan Williams 1783. Anything else under $20, I usually only consider useable to clean up grease. There might be one or two other cheapies Im forgetting, but Sailor Jerry's and Evan Williams 1783 are the only under $20 booze I remember keeping around regularly.

Unfortunately, I got screwed and RIGHT when totality was going to occur a frigging cloud bank sailed over it. So I did NOT get any of the perfect totality pictures. But I did get some ok shots before and afterwards.

Bumping for Hyatt hotels. Room upgrade to a nice suite in Dallas tonight and invited to watch the Stars play from their suite. Hyatt knows how to treat it's loyal customers. I never receive this kind of treatment from Marriott despite having same loyalty status.

Thats too bad. We were lucky with perfect skies. To the tune that I started griping sarcastically that we were at 99.9% totality and not 500 yards north at 100% totality.

There are like 6 Hyatts in the world worth staying at though.

Maybe yours is one? I don’t know.

What would you consider "worth staying at"?

I've stayed at Hyatt properties from Seattle to Boston and Aruba to Austin, and in between. Never been disappointed unless at a lower tier property like Hyatt House. Maybe it helps that I'm paying corporate rates and getting treated well due to my status? I've tried every brand staying 150+ nights per year in hotels and Hyatt is the priority when maintaining status for a reason.

The few Hyatt properties I've stayed in have all been decent. I'm a Hilton loyalist because they have so many options and it's relatively easy to reach the top tier. The perks are nothing great.

Number of U.S. locations needs to improve for Hyatt. Marriott and Hilton have Hyatt beat in terms of accessibility. It's the only reason I stay at Hyatt and Marriott properties. I've been able to maintain status at both brands for the past 3 or 4 years.

I'm talking hotel smack. I've only stayed at a few Hyatt's and they've always been nice, with the exception of a dumpy Hyatt Place one time.

Wish I had known man, was at the game too. Right in the middle of all the Maple Leaf, clad in blue, in town from Toronto for the game, fans.

Delta
National Car Rental
Cottonelle toilet paper
Coca Cola
Canidae dog food
Lemon Fresh Joy dish soap
Fiji bottled water
APC jeans
Gucci and Ferragamo loafers (though I wore Bass Weejuns for years and could revert if I had to)
Apple iPhone
I’ve got very specific “guys” for various not-everyday things, too: jewelry, Persian rugs, custom made furniture, commissioned art

There are probably more. I’m a quirky guy.

After several years with APC, I'm amending my jeans loyalty. I got a pair of Sid Mashburn selvedge jeans at the end of the year, and they're the most comfortable things I've ever worn. I never want to take them off.

Damnit man, I missed seeing the sarcasm font.

I like Hyatt Place for the weekly business trip. They're adequate for a comfortable stay by one person and enough space in the room to exercise. Rooms in most other brands are too small or not designed in a way to allow that.

So there's bunk beds???

I wish. If so, I could invite my essays from south of the border.

Hotel gyms are inconsistent and I don't run in some locations or in certain weather conditions. So, i often travel with gear to exercise in my room.

That's one good thing about Hilton properties - their fitness center is consistent across the board. Treadmills, bike/glider, adjustable bench and a set of dumbbells from 5 to 50 pounds. Some will even include a set of cables. I've built an entire training protocol around Hilton gyms.
