After reading the “what if” article about the defense cracking the top 50, I thought about our defense.
Assuming we don’t lose any linebackers to injury, I think this defense can make gigantic strides.
Last year’s complete lack of pass rush cannot he overlooked. I don’t care what kind of defense you try to run, if nobody is getting even remotely close to the QB, any competent college QB will have success. Eventually players will come open as nobody can cover forever.
We sure have talent at every position with the transfer portal helping provide a quick fix to the pass rush problem.
Assuming we can get some form of pressure on opposing QB’s, I think we may see a ton of turnovers this season,
I could see this defense climbing all the way into the top 30-40.
