We are stopping in Charleston on our way to the Outer Banks. Looking for a place to eat and drink Saturday night. Something casual.

The Ordinary or Two Boroughs Larder. These are two spots I went to last time I was in Charleston I would consider on the more casual side (Ordinary might be a little upscale but I was fine in shorts and a Polo at the bar) both are places you will have a great meal at.

For a place next to the market TBonz Grill was good. Had a great selection of beers and the burger was above average.

If you want casual and fun and you plan to have a drink or two, Bay Street Biergarten.

I like what Sean Brock is doing there with his heritage farm-to-market menus: Husk and McCrady's

Sorry, missed the casual requirement. Still a good places to eat. I do not recall it being particularly fancy (there was no coat requirement).

Those two aren't casual BUT the bar at Husk is a great option. It's actually located in a separate building next door and is casual. Great bar and smaller menu than the restaurant. Sit upstairs and watch the street below or sit at the bar downstairs and get a lesson in bourbon. Get the cheeseburger. You can thank me later.

Thanks for the recommendations. We ended up going to Fuel. Had shrimp tacos and braised pork tacos. Nice, casual atmosphere on the patio. Although, it was odd having people smoke while we were eating. We didn't know that was still allowed in South Carolina.

For a great view she says "California Dreaming" in the harbor--chain but decent

For others or next time since you have already been! I'm usually late to the party anyways. Besides, she says she hasn't been there in over a decade, though Poogans still gets great reviews, named after a dog
