Didn't we already know this? Isn't this something everybody knows but you don't talk about?

CC's not wrong. If you're going to be famous, and out doing dirt, then it's good to have someone willing to take the wrap in exchange for appropriate compensation.

"I was driving"
"The weed is mine"
"That girl was with me"
"I was supposed to pick up the tab"

This is a useful friend to have as part of your entourage.

Not saying he's wrong. I'm saying I thought this was the deal all along. Isn't that what saved Ray Lewis?

idk...I think it was bad advice and sends a very mixed message on how one should be handling themselves as a professional player.

I don't think he should be fired or anything like that, but it was a dumb thing to say.

Its good advice, just not the kind of advice you make while standing on a stage in a public, recorded capacity. Its the kind of advice you give when you pull someone to the side in a hallway.

So he's saying if you're going to do gangsta chit have someone in your posse who will take the fall for you when you inevitably get busted. It's good advice but an awful message. I've always like Chris Carter but this is inexcusable. He should be fired and possibly removed from the HOF...

No, what's really sick is that it's coming to light now when it's been on the NFL channel for over a year and ESPN had the exact speech for just as long. It wasn't a big deal until we're told it is.

BTW, it was a stupid speech, especially after all he went through. What makes it even worse is having that Tool, Warren Sapp with him..

It's fair advice, logically speaking.

1) don't do stupid shit
2) if you're going to do stupid shit (because clearly over the last 60 years NFL players haven't listened to #1) then have someone take the heat for you.

NFL just trying to protect the shield, they don't care if you do stupid crap, just don't get caught so it won't tarnish the brand. All Goodell cares about.
