I know his name is at the top of the pink slip list for most Nole fans, and for good reason. OLine play has been at the center of the offensive struggles over the past few years, and that falls on him. At this point it is pretty much assumed by all - including his own players who carried him off the field last weekend - that he's coaching his last game later this month, either through retirement or being replaced.

That said, is it possible that Coach Taggart's arrival may have changed things? Could his assessment of Trickett be that the new structure and "lethal simplicity" of the Taggart offense is a better fit for his coaching style with these linemen? One thing we do know is that his players love him, and that type of connection is something that Taggart values in his staff as much as anything.

Do we know for sure Trickett is retiring after the bowl game, or is that just a general assumption? If he wants to continue on, is there still an opening for him to stay at FSU or is he done here no matter what?
