Not sure anyone here has followed what has happened at Michigan State this past season. Beside going 3-9, in the past few months they have had
- 3 players suspended pending a rape investigation (including a star player and 2 high rated recruits)
- An assistant coach suspended for speculated cover up of above rape
- A 4th player arrested for a separate rape incident
- A good LB left the program because he said some insensitive things to teammates (rumored called them the N word)
- Malik McDowell apparently got in multiple fights in the locker room and coaches let it happen
- A recruit they signed was arrested for stealing a firearm
- Another player was arrested for spitting in an officers face
- A starting OL decided he did not want to play anymore and quit
- Coach Dantonio admitted multiple other players are suspended but it is unknown why.
All this has led to local (I live in Detroit) talk show analyst and known Michigan State slappy, Mike Valenti to say on the air today that he is not renewing his season tickets. He is done with purchasing tickets, says the coach has lost the team and he cannot and will not defend anything coming out of East Lansing. Also says he doesn't see MSU ever coming back to the level they got to by making the semi finals. He is kind of like the Jeff Cameron of the area when it comes to Michigan State.
So that got me thinking, could there ever come a point in time where you would say something similar about Florida State? Is there any scenario where you would have to say, screw it I can't support them anymore?
