COVID-19 is real deal and I just witness it before my eyes

This. Merck wants to sell their $600 pill, not watch folks buy cheap generic Ivermectin.
So ivermectin is effective? What’s the support besides a study that’s not really a study made by a group whose purpose is to get ivermectin approved to treat Covid?

probably the near 50,000 patients that are part of 64 trials which include 30 RCT's that make up that meta analysis...

if you prefer you can roll with remdesivir. a study of only 1,000 patients that was found to have little benefit so the FDA approved it anyway.

I don’t know a thing about how useful Intervectin is or not but it’s funny to me the same people who want to tell people what they MUST do for their own health also seem to hate the concept that they be allowed to try a medication that may or may not help but sure won’t hurt. The arrogance is palpable.

There is a difference. I don't care if someone takes Ivermectin. They can be dumb all they want to. I also have no problem with them drinking bleach or shooting light beams into their veins. However, many of those people are demanding doctors, hospitals prescribe it and/or approve it for use for Covid. Believe it was overturned but a lady sued a doctor for not prescribing it to her husband and then a Judge ordered him to give the guy Ivermectin. That's what people have an issue with, at least me.

it appears that you care a lot. there are many drugs intended for one purpose that consequently have anti-viral and/or anti-inflammatory properties.

ivermectin has been studied frequently for both of the above and for use in cancer treatments for over 20 years. an important property of ivermectin is its ability to calm cytokine. i think we should all be well aware that things go sideways quickly in COVID patients when they experience a cytokine storm.

i was separately intrigued by drugs such as methotrexate. It's most prominently used in cancer fighting (my kid has basically taken a lifetime dose of it) and in RA patients. understanding how COVID ravages the body it relatively made sense to me that it might be used and sure enough there has been some studies on it, although minimally thus far. methotrexate is much more harsh on the body than a drug like ivermectin though.

on a different note, people that I know that take SSRI's and have been exposed to COVID have either avoided getting COVID or had very mild symptoms (essentially limited to loss of taste or smell only). i was intrigued by that and sure enough there are a number of studies now looking into that predominantly focused around the ability of SSRI's to suppress cytokine.

i expect you won't read any of this - you don't ever respond to any of my posts - i'm probably blocked. regardless, there's a lot of reasoned thought going on by "dumb" people such as myself.

Exactly. My mother was on a drug labeled for leukemia for 20 years to treat her Crohn’s disease. It was successful for all those years even though it never was labeled for such use. She also was kept from dying 60 years ago by the doctor deciding to try a brand new drug that had just come on the market, though not labeled for her what they called ulcerative colitis. His explanation to my father was that she was going to die and he’d like to try this new drug, prednisone, to see if it might help. He didn’t even know what dosage she should be given. He tried it with my fathers consent. She lived, using a drug not listed for her condition.

I see you are resorting to twisting what was actually said in order to spread propaganda. Nice try.

What is propaganda about Ivermectin not being approved for testing Covid and having no significant peer reviewed data supporting it?

Interesting stuff. I half joked with my wife a year ago that viagra or something obscure that has been around for years would end up being valuable in containing Covid. Maybe.

The same people buying cow paste were the same ones thinking Trump was on to something with shining light into your blood to kill Covid and discussing the proper amounts of bleach to drink.

You know the same ones who claimed that Trump literally suggested drinking bleach also claimed that any suggestion covid came from China was racist, that covid was “not a threat” to the US, and that we wouldn’t have a vaccine for years?

Whoa. Ease up on that, Pop. I’m sure all six inbred knuckle draggers who believe that and who are used over and over again to illustrate CNN’s “point” do that, but I’m surprised them there dimwits ain’t dead by now. They done drownt in the shallow end of that cement pond gene pool.
I hear it’s called natural selection. Even though no one ever really told them to drink bleach.

i'm pretty sure that court orders you previously mentioned aren't serving up cow paste to hospital rooms...

also, last i checked, the only meaningful story that came out of the media's manipulation of what was said was that of the lady in Colorado who killed her husband with fish tank cleaner. The media loved that one until they found out she was a prolific donor to their preferred side.

The issue is trust. People don't trust the science because they don't trust the media. Too much mis-information being posted from both sides about the virus, vaccines, treatments, testing etc. You see outlets pushing masks then see them not wearing them sends a bad message. Additionally, is it Covid that killing people or are people dying of other things and getting Covid? That's a question being posed more and more.

For the folks that are not vaccinated name calling and insults isnt going to sway them to get the shot. Making them believe there is a benefit will get them to do it. I don't think anyone really thinks Covid doesn't exist but there are growing numbers that don't trust what they are being told about it from both the media and our leaders.

Tragic and sad story.
You are absolutely right. I work in law enforcement in a school setting and have been absolutely against the vaccine from the start. In August I got Covid from someone out of state, at my mother's 80th birthday party. My son, my daughter-in-law and I all got it on the same day. It manifested itself on Monday morning as I was arriving for work, and thankfully, I never even went into the school, but drove to an urgent care where they verified I had Covid.

It was 2 1/2 weeks for it to stop showing positive, (Thursday) and the doctor told me I could go back to work on Tuesday. On Saturday, feeling better and already having hotel reservations, I said (Wife; load up and let's go to the FSU game). I made it to the stadium, when I discovered that I couldn't take a deep breath. We watched the game, went to the hotel and never slept. Paced the floor. Had my wife drive me back to the Urgent Care where I was diagnosed with pneumonia. Got put on antibiotics and was out of work for another 3 weeks. I finally got cleared to go back to work.

One of my friends died as a result of Covid while I was off with pneumonia; Couldn't even attend her funeral. So now I sit knowing I have a limited time of antibodies for Covid and wonder if I was mistaken about not taking the vaccination and when I should take it after having Covid...

Very Sorry for the Loss of Your Friend Tony...

@robertsrc did your doctor provide any treatment during that initial 2 1/2 week period or did you just have to ride it out?

I'm sorry for the loss of your friend.

I guess it’s my background. The more I am pressured into something the more I question why. I attended Kent State University not long after the killing there. One of the wounded was a classmate of my husband in high school. I was there during a protest against building on the site of the killings. Students erected a tent city on the site to prevent any construction.

I am quite stubborn and refuse to be bullied.
Interesting. I was a swimming recruit in the spring of 1975 and was recruited by Kent State. The first place they took me on my recruiting trip was to the hill were the massacre occurred. They said they wanted to get it out of the way first!

I was a junior at FSU. Our campus was one that was extremely "active" as far as protests, and when the news broke, a panicky Administration shut down classes for a couple of days. Since it was April, about half the student body took off for Alligator Point or Panama City, where most just got stoned and sunburned.

I really didn't think people actually believed that's what was said but well there you have it. Of course anything that goes against the given narrative is either not peer reviewed, from an un credible source or just fake news right?

The same CNN that staged Freddo's coming out of the basement party after he already broke quarantine. That's how you gain credibility there.

In August 2020 in one state 46 people were admitted to hospitals after drinking bleach and there was a 71% uptick in calls asking questions about drinking bleach.

Some people are very very dumb.

partially incorrect statements from the time but you can roll with that if you prefer.

i suppose we can also ignore that bleach and the product grouping that bleach is included in saw a significant rise in incidence long before Trump's April 24, 2020 comment and more specifically because people were manically cleaning household surfaces. Straight or minimally diluted bleach and similar cleaning products used in a confined or not well ventilated space can be a recipe for disaster.

perhaps we also can discuss other stories that have been entirely fabricated or grossly misrepresented by the media?

I'm sure they wont be adequately peer reviewed.

Those people were idiots waaay before 2016, and were still not geniuses when the pandemic started.
Many public utilities water supply contains a form of chlorine...bleach. Perhaps there was some confusion from the simple minded. Lots of that going around.

basically no one drank bleach. it's utter BS. no doubt there might be the odd idiot but that is not how it was characterized and embellished on by media.

the story linked below pre-dates Trump's comments is more representative of what is actually occurring. Hand sanitizer is included in the same product grouping as bleach in poison control.

Life can be a bleach at many times during our Journey (Haylow?) of Life. Confusus say: There are too many stupid people! And what exactly is an idiot? Gaytor fan. Check. Must we be this harsh on our friends from Hogtown! Yes! I'm just a calm simple guy. My friends call me Forrest. You can call me Forrest.

That was for the Covid testing (pos-neg) and for IV's (dehydrated). I lost 30lbs. in 3 weeks. Covid is the ultimate diet.
Doesn't seem to be the same for everyone. Some have had it and never knew about it aside from an anti body test. I was sick like a bad cold for 10 days or so with a lingering ear infection. There are multiple things going around that pop as covid. That's why you see very little flu cases and the like lately. IMO

I'm pleased to hear that you ultimately did well although disappointed but not surprised that you weren't provided treatment options besides fluids.

COVID is proving to be very treatable in its early stages with anti-inflammatory steroids and prophylactic antibiotics but so many just seem to let it progress. Monoclonal antibodies are typically readily available in many areas too now.

The CDC recommends monoclonal antibody therapy for non hospitalized COVID cases but I do know people that responded very quickly and well to prednisone. They too lost a decent amount of weight prior to beginning prednisone.
