Here are the courthouse for the hearing on Dalvin Cook's speedy trial request.

Doesn't sound like anything earth-shattering is going to happen. They likely will just set the trial date. But here to see what happens.

The judge hearing presiding is Augustus D. Aikens Jr.

Cook's attorney says they're ready to go to trial.

The state says they're ready to proceed. But they want to know more about the new witness that the defense plans to call.

Cook's attorney says the witness is already referenced in arrest report. "Not an unknown witness." Man by the name of Grant Jenkins, the attorney said.

Dalvin Cook has a hearing with FSU student conduct code today. That's happening at same time. Why he's not here.

Dalvin's trial has been set for Aug. 24. Jury selection on the 21st.

It was pretty uneventful. The state attorney wanted it to be held the week of Sept. 7, but judge Aikens said why not August? Since neither party had a conflict, they scheduled for Aug. 24.

Sounds like it will be a one-day trial. So one way or the other, this could be done nearly two weeks before the season.
