"A 19-year-old Houston man, a day ahead of starting community college, accidentally killed himself Tuesday while taking selfies with a gun, police said.

The gun blast hit Deleon Alonso Smith in the throat, CNN affiliate KPRC reported."

"Family members were shocked."

Could they really have been "shocked"? What happened is on a monumental level of stupid. To me, there had to have been some previous indicators that this kind of thing was a possibility.

"The cousin told police they found the gun earlier in the day."

Maybe it was selective editing by the author, taking a snip of an interview & quoting it out of context. The full quote was probably something like "We were shocked that the dumbass didn't kill hisself a long time ago"

There have been several predictably bad outcomes in Yellowstone this year from people trying to take selfies with bison.

I wonder how long it takes before his family decides it was the gun's fault, and tries to sue the manufacturer.
