I love FSU and I love college football, but this SEC crap, is so far beyond even outrage, at this point that it looks like it could ruin the game, at least for me.

The opening of the college football season is my favorite time of year. I wait for it every year with great anticipation, and seeing who's going to do what, and what craziness will follow - always guaranteed that it's going to be exciting watching it all play out.

Now, so much of the conversation is dominated by this ridiculous SEC talk, that not only is it shifting the national opinion of the quality of their conference (as if just being a member makes you virtually invincible, and there are such things as "quality" losses - see Auburn last weekend), but it's skewing things so much that if you're not in that conference there can be little to no quality.

It's like it's ruining the game. You can't turn on the radio, except for locally, and expect to hear anything other than how amazing those teams are. The latest from the mothership and their alleged "power" index is just more proof.

I don't know what caused all this, but I've got my suspicions. It's beyond ridiculous. I don't want to spend another year having to listen to all this garbage about the superiority of the conference, having it skew meaningful rankings, and ruining college football. I'd much rather enjoy the games - even those where the SEC is playing - and let it all play out on the field.
