Edelman

We need one on this team. A super smart, dependable player.
Clemson had that in Hunter Renfrow....a dude that always gets open and catches everything. Guys like that make everyone around them better. They just make big catches when they need them and move the sticks. We had it in Rashad Green and Kenny Shaw. We haven’t had that guy since though.

If he has a kid let’s start recruiting him/her. If not let’s keep an eye on him and be there at the hospital when a kid is born.

New England is known for their smurfs, Welker, Amendola, Edelman of course. Hell, Burkhead has been great at RB this year!

Based on social media he might have a number already running around.

And I agree w the poster above me. Let’s not forget he was recently suspended for cheating ina very clemson-like way.

He must have studied the moves of Freddie Biletnikoff. Absolutely amazing the way he runs routes and gets open.......time after time after time!

Good comparison.
Talk about a gritty competitor who plays with a chip on his shoulder every play.
Few athletes can get open like he can.
Well deserved MVP!

MVP should've went to Gilmore, #24 for NE. Not sure if I have the name right...

This.

In a game where the team basically won because its defense held a high octane offense to 3 points, and one player had a forced fumble and an INT in the redzone (or near it, I can't recall the exact spot), along with a number of PBUs and tackles; that player absolutely deserves the MVP.

Should have been Gilmore.

They give him a lot of two way go’s and use all kinds of short motion to get him moving before the snap. Insanely difficult guy to cover given his quickness and how they use him.

Obviously he produces all year but it really seems like they save him for the playoffs to an extent. He'll have a decent year and then in the playoffs he becomes a completely unstoppable force. The patriots do a fantastic job of playing for the end of the season. They try different things throughout the year and rest up their key players so when the playoffs come around they have a perfect game plan for utilizing their talent.

One big difference- opposing defenses actually had players covering Biletnikoff.

Gilmore did make some huge plays but also gave up what 100 yards receiving, plus what would been td over him but safety bailed him out? Good but imho not an amazing game.
Ededlman 10/141 on 12 targets in a defensive game is unreal. Rams tried everything and every disguise on him to cover him and never figured it out.

ah.. no... but I see your correlation :). Unfortunately, we have less options that make that possibility more of a reality than it would be for the Pats
Or maybe, you never know. Their fullback, Develin, was a DE in college. I've never seen a team be so successful at developing talent.

As much as I don’t like either one, On the college level, Saban has won six national championships - with different teams and QB’s. Belichick has won six NFL championships wih Brady.

That speaks to their ability to disregard what other people think about players. Being able to look at a situation without interference from what has gone on before is a sign of extreme intelligence. Also, the Patriots have been very flexible with their systems, willing to change as the situation requires it. That speaks to the intelligence of the players they acquire as well as their ability to teach. BB had a little of that.

The difference is that in college, the best programs are set up by the system to remain at the top with the rich becoming richer and the poor poorer. While in the NFL, the entire system is set up to deny defending champions from repeating. ie the draft, the schedule, the salary cap, etc.

The difference between the talent you face in the NFL and college is huge. Nick Saban flamed in the NFL

He is fortunate the nfl doesn’t have as stringent PED policies as MLB. Players are ineligible for the MLB playoffs if suspended during that season at any time for PEDs.

It it wouldn’t take long for someone to diminish Edelman’s game. He’s just not the “stereotype” of your typical NFL WR so it must be because of those PEDs. Lol.

We all but had the kid a few years ago that ended up going to UNC (name escapes me). He’s in the league now.

All the “experts” on TC/PRB said he wasn’t “athletic” enough, or was “too short”. That same un-athletic kid scorched us every time he played us.

What stereotype are you referring to dude? He got busted for cheating that’s I’ll i said. Can’t refute the facts what he did. Doesn’t take away from him having a great game. My point was and still is if you get busted in mlb for PEDs you can’t play in the post season that is it.
