After you see the workers or kitchen?

I just bailed on Subway (my first mistake, I know). The workers looked homeless - greasy, matted hair, unshaven and wrinkled clothes. Not to mention the tattoos and piercings. I can only imagine the extras on the BMT. Lost my appetite as soon as I walked in.

Oh hell yes. If I go in and see a food score below 90, I'm gone. In Georgia, we do number grades. There's a great app called What the Health, that will give you the scores of the places you are near. You also can see the actual report. Very cool.

Gotta a little ticked recently when I dropped by BK to get the 2/$6 Whoppers they constantly advertise on tv and they were out of Whopper meat.

All the time - but usually it's because of service rather than what I see "going on in the back".

Everyone knows the quality of fast food is marginal - it is unconscionable that these guys cannot keep supplies of the frozen supplies. Circa 1990 I snuck out of the office to go buy a few Cinnabons for my co-worker friends and Cinnabon was OUT of them. This was before they had any other items or even had different versions of their rolls - they made ONE THING across the entire restaurant chain and they can't keep inventory to have a few available at 3:00 p.m.? LOL

The worst part was when i drove to the other location in midtown. I ordered the chicken basket with gravy and sweet tea, drove up to the window. Couldn't find my debit card which was also the only method of payment I had available. Yup, i drove away from the previous location with them still holding my card. facepalm

Don't know that I've walked out. I've definitely tipped the amount of a gallon of gas for awful service. If you don't want to do the job you voluntarily accepted, I'll give you the money to get a gallon of gas to go home.

Probably never a fast food restaurant, I only go to one a couple times a year, and generally know what I'm getting.

The last restaurant we walked out of was a sports bar and grill, one I'd been to before and generally thought was ok. I'm not a smoking nazi or anything, but it wasn't just a matter of being able to smell a little smoke, sitting in the booth in the restaurant side felt like sitting in an ashtray. And this is in Georgia, where it's pretty rare to run across any restaurant with smoking. I guess you can still have a separate smoking area in the bar? Anyway, it was overwhelming, and I'm not even that sensitive to it.

It was kind of late and I didn't want to go looking for another place, so we were going to just press through it, but then I felt something on my arm, and saw an ant on my arm. Ok, not good...then I look and there are like six ants on the table. We just walked out before they came back with our drinks.

I had a bad drive through experience at the new McDonald's (yes, why was I there to begin with). It's one with the double lanes. I went to the next available slot in the inner most "default" lane. I run every sat there like a putz while 4 or 5 cars went through in the outer lane and no one took my order. I kept saying hello hello but it took several minutes to get an answer. When they finally did come on I told them I was pissed and drove away.

Have had the same thing happen to me in the outer lane more than once and stopped using it.

Another impressive thing about Chick-fil-a. They will try all kinds of methods to get the traffic flowing.

I remember stopping in a Ruby Tuesday by myself. Just looking for a quick lunch before a two hour ride on the interstate. Asked to sub a side on one of the lunch entrees. Waitress told me ‘corporate’ didn’t allow substitutions, so I left to find something else to eat. No big deal.

Haha! Now I have to say 'karma'.

You tip at a fast food restaurant?

Was just thinking about this a little more, and I have to ask. Assuming you went back to get your debit card, what was that like?

It starts with throwing chicken into the drive through window and quickly escalates into....

"WARREN, Ohio — Police in Ohio say they’re looking for a man who pulled out a gun after being told by a McDonald’s drive-thru worker there were no Egg McMuffin sandwiches available.

Police say the incident occurred shortly after 3:30 a.m. Wednesday at a McDonald’s in Warren, about 60 miles southeast of Cleveland.

The worker told police that two men inside the car appeared to be around 20 years old. She said the driver called her a vulgar name after pulling out the gun and then cursed at her again before driving away.

Warren police hope to identify the men using surveillance video footage."

Ever go into an all night McDonald's for help after being shot?

Apparently its a standard operating procedure at the South Monroe location.

Robots on the way to minimize some of these issues. Not sure if that is good or bad, as the vast majority of the displaced workers then become unemployed (and likely unemployable). Who else would hire those folks?

that's funny. When I was on patrol working overnights, we got off at 7am. We generally wouldn't write any tickets late in the shift, we were struggling to stay awake. Had a lady blow a red light bad in front of me at 630 am. I wasn't going to write her, just give her a warning but she was very rude to me. So I wrote the ticket. As I handed her the ticket after she signed, it she snatched it and sped away, just missing my foot. I was very angry and was gonna chase her down...until I looked in my hand and noticed....

her DL.
I looked at my partner, shrugged my shoulders and threw her license in the ditch.
