Looks like you booked a good one....we stayed at Bavaro Princess....it was just ok....followed someone else’s suggestion...live and learn. The airport, customs and the transportation is a little third world, but once you get to your resort, you won’t care. Have a great time!
My wife and I stayed at the Sunset Princess in Playa Del Carmen. Had a great time. One thing that made it better was that we had a private pool for just our building and private area for the beach.
Resort itself was huge, and a long walk to the beach. Main pool area and beach area was really crowded with the younger crowd.
Food was just ok.

My now wife and I stayed at the Excellence Punta Cana about 6 years ago. Ive vacationed in the DR 5 times in total, this was the best one. The resort is on the rough side of the island in terms of surf, but the pool and the service was great.
I have also stayed at Sandals several times, its much higher level in my opinion, especially when it comes to food and entertainment.
